Default Laser removal sucks... how about a cream?

Yeah, you heard me.

Got a tattoo you're not really happy with?
Is it too large or whatever to easily cover with a new tattoo?
Have you thought about getting it removed but you can't bear the thought of laser removal... because you keep imagining those scenes from The Craft?

What if you could use a cream instead?!?

Alec Falkenham, Dalhousie student, develops tattoo removal cream

A researcher at Dalhousie University in Halifax may not have a magic potion to repair the relationship, but he might be able to help get rid of that tattoo.

Alec Falkenham, a 27-year-old PhD student in the university's pathology department, is developing a topical cream that he says will make tattoo ink eventually fade away.

"When comparing it to laser-based tattoo removal, in which you see the burns, the scarring, the blisters, in this case, we've designed a drug that doesn't really have much off-target effect," he said.

"We're not targeting any of the normal skin cells, so you won't see a lot of inflammation. In fact, based on the process that we're actually using, we don't think there will be any inflammation at all and it would actually be anti-inflammatory."

And just in time, too. Let's hope this works.

From what I understand, it would be safe to use anywhere on your body.
Like... anywhere.

Which is good, since a couple that I want to get rid of are on my lower abdomen/upper pelvic region.
I've always been nervous that laser removal might affect future baby production, so this would alleviate those fears.
(Although, by the time it comes to market, we may be done making babies.)

And at the very least, it should remove enough of a tattoo to make laser removal more palatable (not to mention feasible), if needed.

Most that I want to get rid of are on other people

2 users laughed. The question is: Are they laughing with you, or at you?:
This user agrees. But then, who wouldn't, right?
