I used to use http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ - free, works nice, and has apps for various smart phones.

That was in February. Since then I have done some smaller trips - three weeks in Germany and three weeks across the USA. Now I'm out of money and have to actually get a JOB again...

I think I'm gonna like Brazil.

I should look into some music and introduce my son to some of those youtubes and see what he thinks. He's been missing karate, but this looks like something both my sons and I could get into.

Way to warm up in winter as well.

Thanks Malia.

Great! I think it would be just about impossible to play capoeira and not lose weight/build muscle.

But as with any new form of specialized workout, please be very careful doing unfamiliar movements without a trained instructor! Part of the instructor's job is to ensure you are doing it correctly and without injury to yourself or others.

I learned this lesson years ago, when I got a knee injury after following a Tai Chi tape.

I know, I know... that sounds totally stupid... but in the tape, even the "easy version" had the instructor crouching way further down than my n00b knees could handle, and I did the entire series of movements. Later that night when I got up to go to the bathroom, my knee made a horrid sound and was not happy for quite a while after that.

So if you like it, please consider finding a local group to play with. Not only will it be safer, it will be MORE FUN. (I may be able to help you find one through my instructor if you IM me - there are groups all over the world).
