Default Phoenix 1.5.2.725 Release!

Quote:
The day has finally come!
The Phoenix Viewer 1.5.2.725 is a Release Candidate because we want to be absolutely certain everything is how it should be. We are also aware that there are still a few bugs which need to be worked out and a few more things we want to add to it before we make it a final release. Although we are calling this a release candidate we WILL be providing full support for it and it can be treated as an Official Release.

Important!
We have loads of documentation and feel it is very important that our users read it because there has been a lot of changes made that might confuse you if you're not aware of them when you first log in. For this reason, we also ask that you link your friends to this blog page rather than the direct download link. You would be doing them injustice otherwise. Download links are at the bottom of this post, we will be adding the download links to our main downloads page in a few days.

Among many other things in this release, we have Parcel Based Windlight settings, Altitude based Windlight settings (sky boxes), Display name support, Multi attachment system, Inventory links... and much much more... so much more.

O.o

If you have a PC that was made after the Pentium 4 era, your CPU is at least an SSE2 processor.

For further information go here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2

Why would they even have that question then? So a SSE2 processor is really old?

meh. Stupid thing always hangs on "getting file information" ("please wait while setup downloads additional files". Every single bloody time, no matter which version, it hangs on that. Won't go further in the install process.

No, an SSE2 processor would be a modern cpu.

Ah, see, I went to the wiki link and it mentioned it was something introduced in 2001. So I thought that made it old. "SSE2, Streaming SIMD Extensions 2, is one of the Intel SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) processor supplementary instruction sets first introduced by Intel with the initial version of the Pentium 4 in 2001."

This release is the first I've used, but it's pretty sweet. I don't know how much is new besides the inventory links (which are handy, though I change my shape more often than my clothes), but command line navigation, client-side AO and built-in av scanner are indispensable now. I do like the side-dock and styling of Viewer 2, and in theory the favorites bar (never settled in to V2 enough to use it), but too much else is lacking or buried in the interface.

I still haven't figured out what to put in the grid information on Phoenix to enter Inworldz

I just barely poked my head into Inworldz and asked myself, "Why did I do this?" but I was wondering the same.

Here, maybe this will help. A screencap of my grid entries for InWorldz.

Lexxi, depending on how old your computer is, you might need to down load the "side by side" fix.

Also somewhere on your computer it tells you if you have the SSE thing or not. I think I found it under help, internet options somewhere, but can't find it now. I have it on mine, but the Phoenix version .373 doesn't like my computer so I down loaded the version for older computers, then I had to down load the "side by side" fix as my computer is four years old. You can log in with another version, join "Phoenix Support Group" and someone there can probably answer your question. Those people are great. I am waiting on the .725 version until they get more of the bugs fixed.

Do I have you confused yet. I am

Oh, Phoenix runs for me in SL, I just couldn't get into Inworldz using the grid information Lecktor posted.

And I did have to download the fix to get Phoenix to work in SL.

Not sure why Inworldz is giving me that host error message.

dang it. I have the grid thing set up for Inworldz, I have it switched to Inworldz on Phoenix before I try to log in, but it still keeps showing me the Second life picture and trying to log me into Second life to get to Inworldz. mmphs
