Just saw this on tv.
And... wow... holy fuckshit.

That's how badass this is.
I HAD to use "fuckshit" back there.

I can be alright listening to the regular version, but I'm not a big fan of it.
This? This shit right here?
Pshaawww...

This is just an entirely different experience altogether.
To me, this should be the official version.
Just... damn...
From the guitars, to the singing, to the solos, to the duo, to the extendedness of it.
(I don't care if that isn't a word... I already used "fuckshit", why stop now?)

In any fuckin case.
Watch this shit.

You will NOT be disappointed.

Press play and sit back... don't stop until you see Scooby.
(You'll see...)

How bout that... it's been over 2 weeks since my last drinkening.
Not that that's all that long, but still... interesting.

Anyway, on to tonight/this morning!
(A bit of a late start this time, eh?)

The beer:

(Alc. 7.5%)

The smell: It smells dark and deep, punctuated with a thin citrus line. There's a heaviness from the coffee partnering with the milk stout base.

The taste: Actually, it tastes much like the smell. There's a stronger taste of hops than the smell would have me believe. And while it's definitely a stout, it's brighter than most... which seems to be due to the lemon peels. Lastly, there's a lingering bite that leaves me with a distinct memory of drinking a cup of espresso.

Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Easily identifying itself as an espresso stout, I would recommend this for any fans of both milk stout brews and espresso. Specifically a cup of espresso where the rim has been pinched with a lemon peel.

But anyway... I'm back to approving of drinking alcohol.
In a current time frame.

I've got the same beer, so I won't bore y'all with a second review or anything.
Although, I am starting off with a small bottle (50ml) of Jim Beam Maple.

That's all for now... just wanted to make my first check in of the drinkin night.

So, real quick... that Jim Beam Maple was pretty tasty!
Mostly had the regular whiskey taste, but the maple was also front and center... unmistakable.
At the same time, it didn't threaten to overpower the drink with its' sweetness or mapley awesomeness.

And while I'm here, I may as well leave you with this...

Hello there.
I drank my beers and Maple Jim Beam whiskey.
Then I was out of shit... except for Chambord, which is really a mixer.

But then I remembered I still had my last bottle of tequila from Mexico!
So, I've been taking small shots of that shit.
I think I'm done now though, judging by my hiccups.
If that makes sense.

Time to move on to iced tea and maybe something else more relaxing, if not mind moobling.
I just made that up ("moobling"), although it seems to refer to other shit that I'm not talking about.
But I'mma use it anyway.

Another night, another brew.
Got me an interesting one tonight... at least by reading the label.
(We'll have to see how it smells and tastes in just a minute.)

The beer:

(Alc. 6.3%)

The smell:
It definitely smells dark... smells most like a stout I suppose. It does seem a bit more tender than a usual stout, which I'm guessing is the Earl Grey smoothing out the edges.

The taste:
It tastes lighter than it looks, that's for sure. I mean, it still tastes like a dark beer, but it also has a clearer aspect to it. It doesn't really seem to stake out any explosive flavors and is really kind of... well, it's more bland than I expected. It reminds me of Yuengling, if it were darker and smoother... and not hoppy at all.

Overall, an easily drinkable beer. It tastes like more of a session beer, but it'll hit ya a bit harder. If you have a friend who wants to get into microbrews, but isn't a fan of very hoppy beer or stouts, this could be a great gateway beer.
Drink it or not... nothing to rave over, but I wouldn't shy away from it either.

Hey everyone!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

In celebration of today, tonight's drink is...

(Alc. 5.8%)

Smell: Woah... I feel like the lime is strong on the nose, but you can certainly smell the classic margarita... taste? ...smell? Either way, smells good, maybe a bit sweet and citrusy, but smells tasty.

Taste: Not bad. It's lightly carbonated, but it's not off putting. It would probably come across better if I poured it out into a glass with salt on the rim (but I'm too lazy to bother). It is on the sweet side... but I have that other tequila, I wonder...

Overall, not bad, but the sweetness may get to be a bit much by the time I hit bottle 3. (I'll have to return to this thread and let y'all know how that goes... and whether I try adding more tequila to it.)

See the review from like, 10 posts ago.

Not really related, unless you're referring to what happens when you drink too much...
(y'know... someone to lean on. In case that wasn't obvious)

I just really wanted to post this totally sweet tune in here.

Hello there.
Guess what?
I gots me a new beer to try!

Let's dive in, shall we?

Here's the brew:

(Alc. 6%)

The smell: That smells nice and smooth. Stronger hops smell than I expected, although it smells more like weed than hops. The notes of whiskey are slinking around the edges, rounding out a tempting scent of a beer.

The taste: Wonderful. Smooth and toasty. You can certainly taste that this is a whiskey aged brew, not that the whiskey is punching me in the mouth or anything... it's just that special way a whiskey aged ale lays on the tongue. I don't want to praise this too much, but it makes me want to relax in a large, leather chair... slowly drawing on a good cigar.

Overall: Fuck yeah. Not a very strong brew as far as alcohol goes, but it's super enjoyable. If I had to use one word, it would probably be "smooth".

Well hey, it's been a nice stretch of almost 2 weeks since my last excursion to drunky-land.
But all things must end.

TONIGHT...
We have another new beer (at least I don't think I've reviewed this one before).

(Alc. 6.8%)

Smells like: There's a woody, chocolate nose on this. Possibly a bit of coffee and some darker spice? Definitely smells robust. I believe there's a sidewinder of hops that I'm detecting.

Tastes like: The burnt woodiness is there, but not pronounced much.. just an even keel. It's got a decent thickness with light carbonation. And there's just enough hops to make a difference... like popping a photo with just a touch of contrast.

Overall, I'd easily recommend this for anyone who enjoys porters or dark beer in general.

Hey y'all... I'm drinking that Deep Six again.
I gotta say, it's not quite as dark in taste as I was giving off.
It's got a slightly lighter soul than that.

Just felt like I should clear that up now that I'm drinking it a second night.

Oh yeah!
I gotta check in with Untapped!

Hey peeps.
Just checkin in to say I'm drinkin a bit tonight.

I have just one of those Tennent's (from a few posts back), so I'm drinking that now.
If I feel like more after that, I'll have to turn to my 5 year tequila from Mexico.

Actually, after having a sip a little earlier, I think it may be starting to get... unfresh.
So, to save what's left, I'll have to start drinking the shit out of it.
Who knows, maybe I'll knock out the remaining half of the bottle tonight.

Well, I went looking for a "screaming tequila" pic, but what I found was... that gif of Morena Baccarin.
Mmmmm...

Morena Baccarin...

Well, it's that time again.
Except I'm going to try a different twist tonight.
This post'll be normal, but then I'll post a follow up review after I'm a couple beers in.
...if I remember.

Anyhoo, let's get on with tonight!

The beer:

(Alc. 8%) (I know the pic shows 7.85%, but the bottles I have show 8%, so there.)

The smell: I can definitely smell the hops, but it also smells a bit like a red ale. I think I detect a slight fruity smell. But it also seems like a might have a weightier back beat.

The taste: It's got a thickness, which I'm not surprised by... but it seems a bit thicker than the smell suggested. Those hops are easily the over-arching story here, with a slight bitterness hovering in the middle of the tongue for a bit, while the twangy hops bite is fairly light and tickles the edges.

Ok, I've just opened beer #3.
Time to re-review.

Smell: Not as fruity this time around, but otherwise pretty much the same.

Taste: The hops bite back at the front, but doesn't linger like an uninvited guest. The thickness is a bit creamy. Beyond that, not much... it's a hoppy ale that makes me wonder where the hell "Brown Shugga Substitute" comes into this brew. I love brown suger, but this doesn't taste like it shares my feelings.

But in related news, I got a new badge on Untapped.com!
It's called "Land of the Free" and it's for drinking 5 different American beers.
yay me

I know it's only been a couple days, but I'm drinking again tonight.
Although, instead of downing 4 bottles and taking a few shots of tequila, tonight should just be 2 beers.
(I only have 2 beers here, so... figure I'll finish them off!)

No review since I already reviewed it... twice.

I just officially finished off the last of my tequila I'd gotten from Mexico... while I was in Mexico.
I'm going to miss having it in the cabinet.

Almost a week, that's long enough to have waited before another night of beer, right?
RIGHT?

Well, I think so.
So, I'm drinking another new brew tonight.
This time it's...

(Alc. 7%)

Smells like: Woah ho ho oh... there be hops in there! But it smells like there could be a bit more of a sweet citrus taste than normal. Maybe some slight hint of some kind of spice?

Tastes like: Definitely a hoppy brew, but it's muted nicely... the edges are all rounded off. There does seem to be some sort of spice in there, which would make sense as this is a seasonal winter brew (so it may be a little long in the neck). Carbonated lightly and just... pretty smooth all around. (Although, it seems like the hops will build up with time, increasing the bitterness as I move along)

(No pic, cuz... "old man" *shudder*)

So, I'm drinking up my last two Old Man beers tonight.
Not planning on anything wild, just mentioning here because that's what I do.

Hey there, hi there, ho there!
*looks around for fellow forum peoples... thinks he might see a cricket in the corner*
*decides to keep going with the post anyway*

Tonight, I'm starting my drinks a little later than normal.
Oh well.

Here's tonight's brew:

(Alc. 7.2%)

Smell: Smells thick and dark, raisins up front with a hint of coffee or chocolate (or both) ghosting in the background. And the malt is puffing out its chest.

Taste: It tastes very close to how I described the smell, but not exactly. The malt has laid back a bit, while the hops came out of hiding a bit. It's not as thick as I expected, but it's certainly not thin. The whole thing has a pleasant taste without any real kickback.

Overall, a pretty good beer if you're into darker beers... I'd suggest it for late night internet forum and political commentary.

Oh... and we probably shouldn't forget the related hottie...
