Pat Robertson: Murder committed in video games is no different than real life murder | The Raw Story

The feral rabbit horde edged forward.

Pooh stepped over the decapitated corpse of Eeyore. There would be time for mourning afterwards.

Flanked by Tigger and Roo, they met the ravening rabbits in pitched battle.

Someone in Matt's family posted something about Being in God's Army today. I addressed it directly, in as conciliatory a tone as I could manage. She didn't get me at first, I had to point it out line by line. She understood my point afterwards tho.

This shit is real, here, not abstract, and it's not funny when it is in peoples' real life heads. Especially when it's pointed at me.

I do my best to live by example and stand up for myself. I have gotten 12 page handwritten letters from some people who are over the cliff. I sit on them until the emotional responses are done percolating so that I can respond with tact and logic.

When the attacks first come, though, it's not pretty. I have to sit on myself. No amount of yoga makes that easy.

At least I'm stubborn.

Asking Pat Robertson for an opinion on video games is like asking Chuck Norris for an opinion on losing a fight.

"If you play video games, you miss out on the presence of God."

If God exists, given the things I've seen in my life, his level of brutality exceeds anything I've ever seen in a video game, so, quite frankly, I'll stick with the video games.

Wasn't Doom based on Revelations?

I guess that makes me a very prolific spiritual serial killer.

Not unless you're using the term "based on" extremely loosely.

You can base just about anything on the Book of Revelations. That's probably why it was included in the Christian Bible.

I've read it was included because the book really needed an "ending" lol. Which makes sense.

It's just happy coincidence that it turned out to be the most entertaining part of the whole thing and the inspiration for so much incorrect prophecy, wild accusations and great B movies.
