I just got a new Android phone yesterday. It is a Samsung Vibrant which is a member of the Galaxy S family. It came with Android 2.1 but using a program I downloaded from Samsung I was able to update it to 2.2. Hopefully they will keep being able to do that instead of waiting on T-Mobile to do it for them. I've played a few Flash games on it and some do work with touch but I think the ones I played were made for mobile phones. The screen is bright even when I turn the brightness all the way down. Things look great on it though especially the Avatar movie that was included with it. I can get an adapter that allows me to attach my phone to a TV.

Picked up a Sprint Galaxy S II last weekend. The thing is an absolute beast. It's faster than my old pc, the screen is incredible...I could go on and on.

My only complaint is that there aren't many cases available yet. Aside from that, it is an amazing piece of technology.

Jorus and I have DroidX2 phones. I enjoy mine more than that BlackBerry.

I have the Android Incredible. Love it, other than the battery life being problematic. I've changed the settings as much as I can, taken off unnecessary apps and it seems to still suck the life out of it. But now that I finally have a charger AT my desk (instead of having to remember to plug it into a wall *somewhere* in the office) I'm not so worried it will die on me as I'm commuting at least.

I think I've had it about a year now.

So glad to have gotten rid of the Blackberry.

My only complaint is I can't synch via WiFi without jailbreaking it and I don't want to do that.

That does look a little bulky. Have your considered one of these?

It's faster that way.

I thought I was going to set mine down there for a minute, but then I got this:

http://www.appbrain.com/app/old-time...m.oldtimeradio (not from here, though...on the Amazon app store.)

10,000 old-time radio shows. The Green Hornet, The Shadow, Sam Spade, Sherlock Holmes with Orson Welles...

doomed.

Lol. That was the first app I downloaded.

Last October I switched to Windows Phone 7.5 and a week ago I went back to my Vibrant but then switched back to WP7.5 a few days ago. Next time I will upgrade to WP8 when it comes out this Fall.

Windows Phone 8

Multi-core processors (up to 64) are now allowable, displays up to WXGA (1280 x 768) and external storage on SD. This better, faster hardware will enable new, faster games and other demanding apps which, for the first time, can be written in native code. (Well, it's C/C++, which at least lets developers get out of CLR land.) All this will run on a kernel shared with Windows 8 and Windows RT. In other words: yes, Microsoft has managed to get one platform running on desktops, laptops, tablets and phones, the idea being that apps can be more easily ported from one to the next, promising "games we've never seen before" running on your phones.

However there will be an update to WP7.8 for current phones.

Microsoft confirms no upgrade path to Windows Phone 8, unveils 7.8 for legacy devices -- Engadget

Looks like the only difference is the start screen will look different. The tiles can be resized as well as more colors will be available.

Samsung Galaxy S3
My two year contract was up with Tmobile. I had a flip phone that was free 2 years ago. It was so bad that I got 0 trade in credit on it. The salesman was shocked and said everyone got at least 10 bucks. First time he had ever seen 0. I love this phone but it was expensive.
