Bams, some friends of ours in real life built that house, irl. That's what made me make it in SL. She gave me their blueprints. There's a difference in the exact number of rooms, but other than that - it looks like their house!

The front of the house, though, they put facing the back of their lot. Because the back is what overlooks a stream and a bit of woods, where they occasionally see wildlife. When we have driven up to visit them, I sit in their living room and say to myself, "I built this house!" All those windows, beams, etc. - I have this very personal connection to them. lol

That's pretty cool. It's well done for sure. I can tell you spent alot of time and effort on the details.

Lecktor, it came to me last night after I went to bed. I can't put the vendors OR the Rez-Faux boxes in Second Inventory because - duh - I don't have full perms on the Vend-Bob and Rez-Faux themselves!

Oh well, it's all part of the pioneer spirit, eh?

I think someone has some vendors InWorldz already, not sure about the Rez-Faux or the need? With the mega prims and huge linksets available that need will be a thing of the past. I had my entire Roadhouse build linked up and inside inventory. Rezzing took maybe 2 seconds?

Rez-Faux will still be useful. It's good in a lot of ways - placement, putting a bunch of items not linked together out at once and manipulating them all at once, memory, etc.

I know you do, Amaranthin.

I bought the Second Inventory this morning, and have been messing with it since. Learning how to work new things like that is NOT my favorite thing to do!

Plus I have a LOT of inventory; plus I have to get it done before the end of April.

I'm now at the point where I am next going to have something to test out in InWorldz. When I have trouble with that (and I always do have trouble with these things), I'll check your progress in your thread.

This is cool. I used to go hang out by myself in the Roadhouse back in 2005 and dance to the music stream (it was down the road from my land in Abitibi).

I'm hoping to check out InWorldz sometime in the next week or so. SL's viewer is making me want to cry (taking over 3 hours to download invy, and then I log out and when I log back in it starts downloading again)

Got my Coco house. I love it. Dumb question how do you make the windows un-tint?

I am going back to get another house. Those are some really obscenely low prices

Now I am wondering why I waited 5 years to buy one.

Because I never really bought houses or anything..but am currently also closing down so wanted to something to replace the 'store' buildings....I went to your store coco and OMG.....can we make requests for IW purchases when you get everything over there? (hope you still are!)

Cause....if so...I would love to request a garden shed, a goth house, the ravenwood blue cottage, the victoriana cottage and the mood indigo cottage. There's more but I don't want to seem greedy *nods and looks back over her list*

Well, sure, I'd love that! I spent ages putting all my stuff in Second Inventory (now Stored Inventory), but I haven't spent ages getting any of it out.

I tested a couple of things. The little things came through fine. ('Lil Garage.)

But the larger, higher-prim house I tried - Mi Casa Su Casa - came in - kinda strangely! It was in two parts. With some of the walls and roof parts and all - about 1/6th of them - connected to each other and linked to the rest of the house, but floating in the sky above and to the right of the main house.

I guess SI had trouble rebuilding it. It gave me errors about that while I was restoring it, leading me to believe it didn't transfer it into IW at all, so I was very relieved to see it at least made it in there, albeit in two random pieces.

So it will take some work to get all those pieces back into their correct places. I haven't tried restoring anything of the others.

But I'll be happy to get with you in IW and discuss it further!

I'll tell you one thing I've learned: Rezzing vendors are no way to show houses.

I always knew this instinctively, and always wanted (and had) enough land to show all my houses.

Instead of spending time selling off most of the land a couple of months ago, and putting all the houses into vendors (which required redoing the rez-faux in each to the newer version), I should have just declared a sale while they were all out and ended it then. And I would have sold more, too.

Vendors might be okay if you have lines of houses which are all pretty much the same thing, the same version of a style, and can put each basic style in a vendor. Then when the customer sees one that is rezzed, he/she basically knows what sort of thing is in the vendor, and just go through the vendor for a version that best meets their needs.

But when the houses are all quite different (mine are arranged in vendors according to size, but they're all different), no one gets that from just a cursory look at the five houses that happen to be up. When they see ALL the houses, though, they wander over to one that catches their eye.

So my advice for anyone getting into the house business would be - try your best not to do rezzing vendors, unless each vendor includes houses that are just variations on the same basic theme.

People don't like going through vendors. I always thought that was the case, and now I'm sure of it. That is, they lack the patience. (Not a pejorative, by the way.)

People like to be able to see everything at one fell swoop, then either move on somewhere else, or go directly to those that catch their eye.

wonderful! once you get everything set back the way it should be and tested to make sure the items came through good, just let me know cost and I'll pop you the I'z for any or all of the ones I mentioned. They will be a wonderful addition to the landscaping I've been considering but I ummm...can't build houses. or barns. or anything that requires four walls.

Thank you!

Misty, I do plan to do the houses, starting with the ones you would like, then moving on to any others you suggest.

Right now, I'm not even in InWorldz, though, because I'm taking a complete break from the whole thing. Seems to me like it's well-deserved vacation after five years! Then I should be refreshed for InWorldz.

I expect in a couple of weeks or so, I will get started on these houses for you.
