If you have Facebook, you can enter to win http://www.orlybeauty.com/spellbound.php these!

I just recently won http://www.orlybeauty.com/dark-shadows.php in addition to the movie. I haven't received it yet.

Good job Sally!

I should make little pumpkin faces on my nails for Halloween... yeah right. I mean I should pay someone else to do it, because me doing it would result in a mess in my house and lots of cursing.

Yeah, they ran out of Buried Alive so are sending me Chocoholic as a replacement as well as one of these colors as an apology. As well as an extra surprise. I'm thinking I like this company!

I am rather bummed, that at Halloween time, when I could be painting up my nails all nifty, that they are all broken to nubs right now. I have a lot of trouble keeping my nails long. They break easy.

Yeah, I mostly do my toes. I won't be able to wear fingernail polish during clinicals at the hospital, or if/when I work at a hospital.

I've had better luck with getting them longer now that I don't wear polish.

But of course that sucks cause, I'm not wearing polish.

It's a catch 22 problem. Nice pretty colorful nails or healthy nails (well, for me anyway). There's just something about the whole process of having them done now that I'm older that makes them unhappy so I leave the polish for special occasions (although I always have my toes done up).

Getting old bites.

I can't grow my nails long for a simple reason, my middle nail on both hands curves inward like a claw when they get to a certain length, maybe around an eighth of an inch, a bit less.

Fortunately, I really don't like the look of long nails and cannot function with them on my hands, anyway. I keep them either short or as long as the middle will grow without curling in, heh.

Toenails are a different matter. Not that I grow them long, lol. I just like them polished and manicured and not by myself, by a salon. That makes me happy. Toenails are one of those things that should just be covered up with paint for some of us, hehe. Not really pretty naturally, count yourself lucky if yours are.

I painted the cutest little ghosts on a couple nails this morning. I let them set a good hour before even attempting to topcoat. They still made a smeary mess.

I'll give it another try later on.

I will have to give it a try for sure. I usually use this:

which is awesome, but I'm currently out and this place has NO beauty supply stores within 100 miles. I have to work with what I can find at the local pharmacy. :\

Bunnie thinks she will start ordering nail stuff from online

I heard such good things about that stuff, and I really wanted to love it too, but...it doesn't dry fast for me. I am under the belief that some things that work for some folks, don't for others. Body chemistry or something.

I agree. I have friends that buy something that chips like crazy on them but will last a week on me. I know my hands are warmer than normal and that may be why.

For anyone that hasn't tried it - it is the same as an old Avon product called "Quick nail dry" or something like that. This one is NOT a top coat.

You brush it on the polish and I'm not really sure that it makes the nails dry faster, but it puts a kind of stuff that feels oily (but doesn't seem to stain anything like oil does). What that does is keep things from STICKING TO THE DAMN POLISH WHILE IT'S DRYING. Like when you accidentally brush against your hair or clothes. You still have to be careful, but your wet polish no longer behaves like flypaper. Is very good stuff.

I have the Orly Sec'N'Dry. Yes, it goes on top of the polish, but I would not consider it a "top coat" because it kind of evaporates once it has done its job.

I think of a "top coat" as, another layer of polish that is clear that goes over the colored polish. (Maybe there is a whole area of nail finishing that I'm missing out on???)

Mine (Sec 'n Dry) works as a top coat just fine. They do have one that is not a top coat (Flash Dry). They have another that says it is also a top coat (In a Snap) but I've never tried it.

I think either we have not got the same product or we are defining "top coat" differently. No biggie.

It's good stuff no matter what you call it!

I recently visited my son's godmother - she's like an adopted aunt to me - and she and her sister were playing with this midnight blue nail polish that makes some kind of magnetic pattern...

Basically you paint your nail, then you hold it about 1/4 inch away from this little magnet that comes attached on the cap for 10 seconds and if you do it right, you get a sort of pattern that shows up on the polish.

I got roped in to test it, and... discovered that I've missed having gal pals to do girly stuff with. So I came home from Houston with nifty dark blue nails, and have since painted them purple and now some shade of bronze

I just painted my nails orange and the thumbs black. I was feeling rather uninspired.

I don't feel they are awesome enough to bother with pics. If I get creative, I'll re-think that.

Got my nail polish today! Smolder, Grave Mistake, Chocoholic, Decades of Dysfunction, and Mysterious Curse. Smolder was an extra as well as those small bottles of Bonder, Polishield, and Primetime. Chocoholic was a replacement, but similar in color to what it replaced.

I already changed them again.

I am fickle, but more importantly, they got messed up while I was moving furniture around. I swear!

I am now wearing Rimmel's purple rain:

The paint job in this pic isn't the best, but it showed the actual color the best. I LOVE this color! Rimmel in general makes awesome colors, I have more than a few.

I also have Rimmel Black Satin on one nail.

That is a lovely color! I have Smolder on my fingernails now, but I have to take it off since it's chipping.

(not my nails).

I did Orange Punch on my nails with a black crackle for Halloween.

It looked similar to this (they are using the China Glaze Black Mesh crackle like I did, but different oranges.)
