Default Hope In a Jar

Because lotions and face creams and soaps etc. deserve their own thread.

Emily Dickinson famously said, "Hope is the thing with feathers"

However Woody Allen said "How wrong Emily Dickinson was! Hope is not "the thing with feathers". The thing with feathers has turned out to be my nephew. I must take him to a specialist in Zurich. "

Woody Allen also said "Of all the wonders of nature, a tree in summer is perhaps the most remarkable, with the possible exception of a moose singing "Embraceable You" in spats."

Flanked by Tigger and Roo, they met the ravening rabbits in pitched battle.

5 users laughed. The question is: Are they laughing with you, or at you?:

I have a very simple routine when it comes to facial care. I don't go in for a lot of product at all. I'm a fan of Shiseido's Pureness and Benefiance lines. All I use is a gentle foam cleanser in the shower and *maybe* moisturizer in the winter if really necessary and their water based balancing softener to sometimes freshen up my face or remove make-up.

The moisturizer; Bio-Performance, is pricey, but for me, lasts easily a year. A little goes a long way. It's made with a more mature skin in mind and I find gives a really good texture to skin for make-up application.

Great stuff. I've tried other products and I always wind up back with theirs. For me nothing compares.

I'm loyal to Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer and Neutrogena cleanser, and Burt's Bees clay mask once a week. I am allergic to most everything else. Sheridan, my daughter, loves Hope in a Jar, though.

Oh, I wanna pimp something I went back to using and don't know why I ever stopped, I think because it went bad sitting unused in the bathroom cabinet because it has real olive oil in it.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil.

Do not think this will make you break out or make your face oily, I have both those issues and it does not. It is a fantastic cleanser if you wear make-up, it will take it all off or if you have sensitive skin.

You rub the oil on dry, massage it into your face and then rinse it off with the warm water. It foams a little with the water.

Your face will be soft but clean. It's just perfect and as I've said, I have oily/combo skin.

Look for good deals on it though, like on eBay or individual sellers on Amazon because it's not cheap.

I like pure grapeseed oil. It's a very fine oil and doesn't feel greasy or gooey, and I find it works very well for my skin.

During one of my Navy stints I was in Japan, and you wouldn't believe the amount of skin creams dedicated to bleaching. Crazy shit. I bought one and didn't see a difference.

And of course it was used as sex lube, in addition to helping lady parts heal after childbirth.
