Video of the new character customization and I am not pleased. It looks like no facial sliders, more generic faces to choose from, wtf. This is the *only* game I want to play and this is unacceptable, we had face sliders in SWG for christ sake.

With Guild Wars 2's beta weekend event poised to start today, many procrastinating players may be rushing to the official site to prepurchase their copy of the game and secure a spot in the beta. Those who do so, however, will be in for a rude awakening, as both the standard and deluxe digital versions of Guild Wars 2 are listed as "sold out" on the site for North America.

While it may seem head-scratching that a company can sell out of a digital product, ArenaNet says that this was done to ensure enough server capacity for the event. The good news is that GameStop and Best Buy are still accepting prepurchase orders, and it looks as though ArenaNet will resume taking orders through the website once the beta weekend is underway:
We limit sales to ensure we have enough capacity for our customers. We're likely to have capacity available after the initial crunch at the start of the weekend. Players who purchase when we're able to resume digital sales at buy.guildwars2.com will still be able to play for the remainder of the weekend.

So last night I finally fought "The Claw of Jormag" one of the big bosses minions

lots of fun but the best part was this,

oh and i hit lvl 80!!!!

go buy this game and come play with me!

I am rolling a Asura engineer and a Norn Warrior next so basically starting over again. The world is so huge you can roll five characters and never do the same thing twice.

Oh I am on Ft Aspenwood server

I forget what server I'm on, but it won't matter much if I never get back to playing!
I'm currently a lower level Asuran Necromancer:

Letumorsus

(I'm in a guild that was started by some SLU peoples... I don't remember the name of that either. )

In case you don't check the website, there's a couple of fun interesting posts.
According to the dates on them, there's one from today and one from... tomorrow.

First, Colin Johanson Outlines Guild Wars 2 Live Game Development:
Quote:
Our goal is to continue to raise the bar by keeping the game constantly updated with more high-quality content than any other game has offered before. We think Guild Wars 2 is one of the most enthralling online worlds ever created, so we are dedicated to a live game that impacts this world with events and milestones that are immersive and possibly permanent. We want this to be a world where you share memories of pivotal moments and exciting experiences for years to come.
To meet our goal, rather than have one small live team as is normally provided in traditional MMOs, we have formed multiple live teams focused on expanding Guild Wars 2 in the long term. I’ll cover the teams in broad terms below to give you an idea of the kind of support to expect. As our teams update the game, they will give you more specifics in the form of update notes, media interviews, and blog posts like this one.
And “My Legend Grows!” Forging Your First Legendary Weapon
Quote:
If you’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 in the month or so since launch, you’ve likely heard players talking about Legendary Weapons. What is a Legendary Weapon—and more importantly, how can you get one?
Legendary Weapons are the end result of an epic adventure in Guild Wars 2. You’ll travel all over, collecting items and amassing materials to build your Legendary Weapon.

(Worth reading the entire post of both of those!)

I've started a few characters, and I think I like the Ranger (human) the best so far (Necromancer comes in second).

Also have an Engineer (Sylvari), a Necromancer (Asura) and an Elementalist (Norn).

So far I just have my Asuran Necromancer.
I've been sorely lacking in play time on GW2 lately... mostly due to being in on the Defiance Beta... and now Alpha.

But after reading recent blog posts, I REALLY have to force myself back into GW2.
I mean, the Living Story: Evolution blog post is so enticing I almost masturbated to it.
