Default Hey Envoy!!

Told you we have a drummer in the family.

(He sets his own kit up, thus the strangely arranged toms. )

I figured someone needed to kick this thing off!

Dude!!!

While I freely admit that, in some circles, what you are allowing to proceed borders on child abuse ("why didn't you give him toys and tools so that he'd become a doctor?!"), but I heartily endorse this situation!

We tried that. He uses everything as a drum stick. everything. Pencils, tools, food.

He started out with the colorful little electronic pads, and, ever since, spends a good chuck of his day watching live music, trying to emulate the drummer. If we're watching TV, he asks for music. He is behind me right now, watching a Phish DVD, jamming out. We asked what he wanted for Christmas, he said "MORE DRUMS!"

Thank goodness we have understanding neighbors.

Ok, this kid is a winner already.

I had a note sent home to my parents, must have been 3rd or 4th grade. "Little Envoy is a wonderful student, does all his homework, etc, etc, but is there anything you can do to keep him from constantly tapping and rapping on his desk??"

Ahhh, nope. The die was cast.

That's how our son is. EVERY SURFACE IS A PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT. I think we're getting him an upgraded set of cymbals for his birthday.

Hmm....my son's last report card had a comment that while he's usually a good student, lately the juggling has taken up too much of his class time.

Maybe I should start him drumming instead
