Wait ... how do they figure water makes 98% of Earth's volume? It's you're talking about the WHOLE earth, this number is way wrong, so I assume they're somehow only measuring the volume of the Earth's surface to some depth? Or maybe volume of water from sea level down vs the volume of earth from sea level up?

We can not ask cartoonists to be real scientists Aimee. So regardless of the detail of what is true or not true in the comics.
But when we know (from a reliable source) that subventions ( money) could be avoided or used for something more useful, whether we are environmentalist or not, we necessarily have a preference, especially in times of deficits of any kind.

Once the financial question of the appropriate manner can ask another: deepwater trawling is it destructive?
But even if you do not have time to answer, common sense already dictates our conduct.
(Actually, we know from scientific studies that is destructive.

I do not know much about the sea, other than that Tout is faster than me crossing it so far, even when I have a half day head start.

OK OK! I'm not against the gist of the comic. Just that percentage punched me in the eye and distracted me!

It did - I saw that part and as soon as I saw it the first thing I did was come back here to say "hold on...", but I noticed that Aimee had already done it, so then I went back to read the rest of it.

Aimee's avatar was drawn for her by the absolutely awesome Maddie Blaustein, who sadly passed away 5 years ago on the 13th of December.

I visited GradyE's SL house one time; she's got an Aimee alarm clock! Srsly! It has a little figure of Aimee on it that strikes different poses depending on the time. It was the coolest thing ever.

I was at this party when the Aimee dolls were available but there was so much going on I never picked one up. The one I have now was given to me by Myth a few years ago. She had picked up two. \o/

Trawling and the use of gill nets in the deep ocean - the two most destructive fishing in deep methods - should they be banned? To this question the subject of intense lobbying for months, MEPs in plenary session in Strasbourg Tuesday, December 10, finally said no after a close vote. The Ocean Defenders hoped that elected go beyond compromise painstakingly negotiated settlement within the Fisheries Committee of Parliament in November. This was not the case.
