Kinko's?

... I'm trying to remember the printer that did the cards for my last gallery show in Chelsea- the gallery owner swore by him [of course, he got all of her biz, too]. Damned if I can remember...

That said, much as I prefer to go local for most things, I did a "mega-printer" cheap biz card deal [out of California] for Matt's biz cards and they were just awesome- upload the jpeg, pay the shipping, and bingo! UPS delivered less than a week later.

Thanks Jen, I'll check out that website. And I could go to someplace like Kinkos, total brain fart on that.
Flickr has a service they work with, I looked at that and it was pretty good except...only about 8 choices for fonts. That sucks. But, I could live with one of them so I might use it. Still searching, since I have a couple of days before it becomes semi-critical.

UPS, Office Max or Office Depot, too. Might get a good deal on cards since it's December.

We got our cards. They're very nice. I lobbied hard for the ones with a couple of old people running through the snow naked, hand in hand. I thought they were hilarious. It reminded me of us, except for the naked, running and snow parts. Oryx vetoed it. So you guys get a bird or something equally banal.

I tried.

I think there was one with "Noel" and the letters were made out of people having sex in various positions that looked like letters. Also a resounding no.

Baby Jesus flipping the bird to the wise men? Nope.

Santa Claus and the elves doing bong hits? Nuh-uh.

I saw that on Facebook and managed to not look, and then YOU link it and I spend fifteen minutes cackling. Matt was perturbed.

Won't be able to send anything this month, the boys and I can't afford Christmas this year. But I'll try to send something in January, or maybe June or July!

It'll be a "J" month.

My address was only there for Io and Elora cos they said they wanted to send something anyway and Elora is a sweety and no one messes with Io. . So don't send anything everyone else, okay? Thanks.

Store bought is fine Io. I have problems also, really wanted to make one from scratch, but at least I did remember to buy a couple of boxes the other week. Now it's just a matter of remembering to bring them to work to write them out because god forbid I should have the energy at the end of the day at home :P

Poor handwriting is a result of all that typing we now do instead lol. Mine has gotten deplorable over the past years also. I find myself usually having to stop in the middle of a word to make sure I'm writing ok - and I don't mean spelling, that I'm good with. It's the actual creation of the letters! OY

God, do you have any idea how many perfectly good cards/envelopes I have thrown away because my handwriting has gotten so bad? My signature especially, makes a doctor's look legible. I couldn't read it.

Oh and although I didn't make these cards, someone did, they are handmade. From Papyrus, Elora may know the store I am talking about, they have the best stationary. I haven't sent out this many cards in years, myself. I will try to get them out by Friday.

As for "cheap cards" who gives a flip, I am just happy to get them from you guys, I mean that.

So. Last night we received the first of holiday cards in the mail. The envelope was addressed to my real name and "Llama" LOL.
I assumed it was from someone here but nope, it was from my Realtor - who is also a good friend.
Totally forgot he knows about Ghosty's llama fetish!

I received my first card yesterday, it was addressed to me, but came from the Hospice Care that was here in my moms final days. Made me sad, but the only names signed were from her personal nurses (that I saw daily) and not just "Corporate" staff, so that made me smile.

I got my first.

It had no return address.
It looked like it was hand written addressed to me, only using my first name.
It was definitely a card inside.

It was from... DirecTV. Mother fuckers.
They wanted to offer me a special Christmas welcome back 3 year deal.

Fuck them.
In the heart.
With a spoon.

Although, on a plus side, this discussion reminded me to call them and have them put me on a no contact list.

I haven't been anywhere to buy cards yet, either. I was trying to convince an artist daughter or two to design one but I got the blank I'm-At-The-End-Of-The-Semester-And-Losing-My-Fucking-Mind-Stare. P2 tried to make one, too, but he lost interest. Definitely by Monday I'll have them sent, cause I promised Freya cookies.
