Default New song inspired by a dream I had last night

I had this odd dream last night. I dreamt that Sans and I were running around in an old pickup, hitting the pawn shops, looking for vintage guitars...

...with Jimi Hendrix.

Yeah, I know. Anyway, it inspired this song; haven't recorded anything yet as I just finished it a couple hours ago. The "1959" thing is a triple reference -- my birth year, the year of Buddy Holly's death and the year of the Les Paul we were searching for in the dream. (For those of you who aren't into guitars, a 1959 Gibson Les Paul sunburst in excellent condition can sell for a quarter of a million dollars.)

At this point it kinda sounds like a Neil Young acoustic number, but I plan to do an electric arrangement.

1959 Dream

Me and Sam and Jimi
We were hitting the pawn shops, looking for the pot of gold
And riches untold

We were looking for an icon like you'd hang in a church
If rock was religion and the saints all played guitar
And they were stars

Ai-yi-yi-yi, nineteen-fifty-nine
Nineteen-fifty-nine sure would be fine,
Sure would be fine

We were cruising in a pickup
A beat up old Chevy like the one my Grandpa had
When I was just a lad

We were looking for an icon like you'd hang in a church
If rock was religion and the saints all played guitar
And they were stars

Ai-yi-yi-yi, nineteen-fifty-nine
Nineteen-fifty-nine sure would be fine,
Sure would be fine

Then I woke up, and I opened my eyes
And to my sadness, I realized
Saint Jimi's been gone these forty-odd years

He's turned into an icon like you'd hang in a church
If rock was religion and the saints all played guitar
And they were stars

Ai-yi-yi-yi, nineteen-fifty-nine
Nineteen-fifty-nine sure would be fine,
Sure would be fine

There may be video soon. I'm supposed to play at an open mic tonight. I'll see if Sans will video it.

My droid sent this for me. His name isn't C3PO, it's Tapatalk.
