Default Anyone else stuck in Second Life?

I've been trying to log in for an hour now. Sans is showing as logged in already, though, and I've tried all the workarounds I know (logging her in to another region, logging her alt in and trying to IM Sans, moving the alt to her mapped location to try to shoot her into relog, etc.). Tateru reports that it's a known issue that LL is working on fixing (apparently lots of people are ghosted in world and can't be logged out). Anyway, Clearwing will have to be restarted in order for it to be fixed, so wondering if any other residents of Clearwing are having this issue?

I just logged in to Clearwing, waited a few minutes, logged out and had Bams check to see if I was still online. I wasn't. Hope they get it squared away.

ETA: I just noticed what time this was posted.

I still hope they get it squared away.

A lot of sims are having troubles right now. The rolling restarts should have some sort of solution... Maybe. (>_<)

Even just the act of crossing a simline can swallow an avatar at the moment. (._.)

... For example. DX

Filed a support ticket. I've already forgotten why I wanted to log in last night anyway.

"You can log out any time you like, but you can't never leave...."

Okay, apparently they've been awesomeizing the sim-crossing code.

Soon it will be as awesome as group chat.

So, while it's sort of good they're attempting to do something about sim crossings, I'm expecting them to first break it completely (which I think they've come close to), then do a rollback (I think today), which won't be quite as bad as the fix, but will never work quite right ever again. Then any future JIRA's about sim crossings will be arbitrarily closed as "will not fix."

I have to wonder if it's due to this which I found in release notes for Le Tigre:
12.01.18.247990

This "threaded region crossing" project scheduled 2012-01-25
Features
Prototype threaded region cross for agents. Uses the new threaded RPC/thread state machine mechanism.
Also on BlueSteel: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Rel...12.01.18.24799

Yeah, I can't figure out what LeTigre and BlueSteel are though. Code? A sim? A region?

They're channels, or "participating sims" in the Release Candidate server code projects. (^_^)

Right now, 4 channels. Release, Magnum, Blue Steel, and LeTigre. Sims on the Release channel get just that, the release sim code which should just work. The other three get code for other experimental operations which need more extensive testing than what's available on the beta grid. (^_^)

For example, the Magnum channel was the first group of sims to get mesh capabilities. I personally volunteered my main sim for the Magnum channel which put me practically first-in-line for maingrid mesh builds. The other sims on the other channels weren't arranged to handle it, so, mesh would be broken on exit. (^_^)y

Don't be silly. Everyone knows they are some of the looks perfected by famed male model Derek Zoolander.

My droid sent this for me. His name isn't C3PO, it's Tapatalk.

Got a nice reply from a Linden. Unfortunately I can't log in from work. And WoW's 4.3.2 patch just dropped today, so it'll probably be another week or so before I want to log in again anyway.

Hello Sansarya Caligari,

Thank you for submitting your support request. I'm sorry to hear you are having problems logging in. I will be happy to help!

We are currently experiencing a technical difficulty across the grid which results in some avatars getting "stuck" inworld. I have manually cleared your presence so you should be able to login again, However before you do please follow these directions to ensure you can login successfully.

1. Clear the viewer's cache
2. Login directly to a different region on your login screen (either Lime or pooley). If you don't have this setting , you can set it at Edit >Preference >General >Show Start Location on Login Screen (check that box)

After you've done that please follow these precautions to avoid getting stuck again:
-Do not log off from the viewer while flying in world or in the middle of teleporting.
-Avoid heavy scripted attachments or Huds or AO
-Teleport to a very low lag region such as Clementina before logging off or ending your session in the viewer
-For now avoid busy areas where lag is prominent
-Make sure you are using a wired connection (cable from modem to your computer) instead of wireless

Please check for updates on this issue by checking the blog status at the following link.

Thank you for contacting Linden Lab Support

If you have any further issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Oh yay, the usual support BS letter they always send out. Turns out this issue was noted in the Server Beta group meeting http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta...tes/2012-01-26 ...

You need to discover WoW. Lots and lots of people disappear from first life after discovering it.
