And now for something completely different!

Beer #2:

(Alc. 6.0%)
(Saugatuck - Neopolitan Milk Stout)

Smellin: Very light on the nose with a basic lactose/malt base. Candy/ice cream sweet with a malty undertow. Ever so slightly smokey/woodsy.

Tastin: Malty sweet with an ice creamy character. Smoky wood body.

Overall, it's tasty and interesting. Probably not something to get a 6er of though.

Took a minute, but finally found a decent pic...

I'm done wit dat guy...

And now, what should be the final beer of the night.
(Maybe)
(Definitely the last review though.)

Anyfucky...

Beer #3!

(Alc. 11.0%)
(Dogfish Head - Immort Ale)

Smells: Sweet oak wood and raisin pops up first. Hidden vanilla notes weave throughout. Maple is a distant whisper.

Tastes: Smoky vanilla wood. The body wears raisin sweetness like maple camouflage. Slight bready notes throw hints from the distance.

Overall, sweeter than I prefer, but a nice brew. Do NOT gulp this shit, it's meant for sipping. Or, at least, that's how it tastes to me.

And the best pic I could think of without taking forevah!

Well, it's been two weeks since the last drinkening.
Sounds like it's about time for a new round!

Let's go ahead and get this started!

Beer #1:

(Alc. 8.5%)
(Omnipollo - Nebuchadnezzar)

Smell: Subdued wheat and slightly bitter citrus step forward, while sweet malt lays softly in the background. A pithy touch outlines overall bright notes.

Taste: Gently bitter hops fade into citrus pith. Sun-kissed wheat hovers in the background with a hint of sweetness.

Overall, this seems more like a brew fit for late summer afternoons. Some strength behind a slightly bitter, but pleasant and smooth draw. It keeps me coming back, sip after sip.

(No pic for this one... I mean, how do you find a sexy pic for something named, "Nebuchadnezzar"???)

And then there were two.

Beer #2:

(Alc. 7.0%)
(Against The Grain - 35K)

Smells: Biscuity, sweet malt. Chocolate and coffee notes follow just behind. Then, possibly, faint raisin and banana.

Tastes: Standard chocolate/coffee stout. Sweet malt notes, but not heavy handed. Faint biscuit fills out the bank end.

Overall, there's decent flavor here. Nothing too front-forward. A pleasantly balanced stout. Maybe not a stand-out unique brew, but a solid stout nonetheless.

(Another one with a name that's weird for finding a relative pic.)

Ok, so maybe I never made it to #3 last week.
But I'm gonna start off tonight with that last one I missed.
Then I have a couple others to try out after that... assuming I make it to all 3 this time. :P

So...
Beer #1:

(Alc. 11%)
(Troegs - Mad Elf)

Smell: Honey and faint cinnamon rise up first, holding hands with wine-like cherry notes. A sweet, bready body to back it up. Possible vanilla notes.

Taste: Bread and honey front and center, with tight cherry notes trailing close behind.
Hints of cinnamon and clove follow through. Faint suggestions of cocoa waft by in the end.

Overall, a well thought out holiday brew. Some wine-like qualities brought on by the cherry notes give a unique twist to the flavor profile. Slightly terse presentation, but really quite enjoyable.

And yay!
A pic to match!

Alrighty, on to...

Beer #2:

(Alc. 9%)
(21st Amendment - Not Your Cup of Tea)

Smell: Kinda wonky... um... faint smells all around. Slightly sweet bread off in the distance mingles with... I don't know. Just super faint.

Taste: Smoky charcoal walks up first. Slightly sweet bread peeks in from the sides. Dark chocolate notes in the distance are brought softly forward with black tea elements.

Overall, it doesn't present the black tea ntoes as strongly as I suspected... which may be a good thing. The smoky flavors are front-forward, but not too strong. A fairly pleasant, if somewhat confusing, taste profile and mouthfeel.

And your fitting pic for this brew:

Alright, only a half hour since my last review.
Not bad.

The last brew of the night sounds heavier than the others, but is actually the lightest of the three.
What is it, you ask?
Well, why don't we find out?!?

Beer #3:

(Alc 8.5%)
(Orkney - Skull Splitter)

Smell: Why does this smell like tequila? Soft, hidden raisins among the over-arching, yet subdued, malty sweetness. Mahogany smoke rides the trip all along.

Taste: Subdued raisin wine and figs. Slight smoke in the background hangs out with some cracker notes. Possible coffee notes in the undertow.

Overall, pretty nice for something called "skull splitter", lol. It has that raisin taste I'm not too fond of usually, but it's muted enough here to be pleasant. A "clear" mouth feel that continues down the throat. Good shit.

And again, a lovely skull splittin pic for ya bitchez...

So, it's a busy time of year, eh?
This almost became a second weekend skipped in a row!
Then I realized it works out just fine for a drinkin night.

With that in mind, let's get down to it!

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7.0%)
(Barrier Brewing - Endless Sky)

Smell: Bright and smooth citrus gladly greets me first. Possibly a bit of gentle pepper notes in the body. Slight cracker notes fill out the distant background.

Taste: Creamy and smooth, with a bright pithy body. Subdued bitter notes play with the gentle pepper throughout. Somewhere in the distance, cracker rounds out the rest.

Overall, I'm finding this IPA quite enjoyable. Definitely qualifies for IPA's I'd happily drink again. Good late summer night/autumn brew. It'd probably pair well with chicken and fish... ooh, yeah... this would be perfect to go with fish n chips!

(No hottie pic this time. Not sure what to post and I'd rather meander the 'net instead of spending 20 minutes looking for a pic! Knowhutimean?!?)

I'm done with that first beer.
Time for...

Beer #2:

(7.5%)
(Victory - Black Forest Cake Stout)

Smell: Coffee and dark chocolate present in the front, with an undercurrent of dark cherry. Bready body that carries the dark cherry forward. Sweet raisin whispering in the background.

Taste: Coffee and dark chocolate, spiked with dark cherry. Bready body lumbers in the midground. Smoky flavor and cherry notes stronger on the back end.

Overall, a tasty stout with a lovely flavor profile. Dark cherries add an intriguing layer of complexity. Not my favorite stout, but really pleasant nonetheless. (Smoky flavor builds, gets a little heavy.)

(No easy to find pic that's relatable, so again... no pic. )

Ok... after an extended Twitter idiocy, I'm ready to start on my last new beer of the night.
How about my non-existent audience?
Yeah?

Cool, let's do it.

Beer #3:

(Alc. 14.7%)
(Southern Tier - Montrosus)

Smell: Immediate chocolate cordial, followed by sweet raisin. Somewhat bready body. Laid back bourbon soul.

Taste: Velvety dark chocolate with slight coffee notes. Warm bourbon whisps about the whole experience. Sweet, hidden raisin notes flit about the smoky soul.

Overall, this is a very lovely drink (I'm adverse to calling it a "brew"). She has a thick body and a dark, sweet soul. Best reserved for last drink of the night... probably wonderful in front of a large fireplace, discussing horror stories with friends.

And finally!
A related pic!

Happy New Year!
Or, at least, Happy First Beer Post of the New Year!

Been a couple weeks and I almost didn't get anything tonight.
But then, I was like, fuck that... I'm gettin me some beers!
So, off I went... ended up with a couple IPAs and a big ol stout for the finish.
A bit of a thread in the brews tonight, from fruity to citrus/coffee to bourbon-aged stout.

So, first up, (obviously) is...

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7%)
(Evil Twin - Sumo In A Sidecar)

Smell: Creamy, bitter, citrusy hops right up front. Decent hints of apricot in the body. Very faint whisps of pepper (and banana?) throughout it's straw soul.

Taste: Smooth (almost creamy) orange citrus on top of an easy straw body. Faint apricot dithered with distant notes of pepper.

Overall, it's a pleasant ale. Definitely more of a summer vibe. Lots of sediment throughout, top to bottom. Juicy and increasingly pleasing with every couple of sips.

(No pic, because finding any sumo in a motorcycle sidecar just isn't an easy thing to come across and I don't want to spend for-fucking-ever searching for a pic when I could be having fun instead.)

Geez... it's been close to an hour since my last beer post!
I should really try to drink my beers a bit faster, yeah?

I think so.

Can't turn back time, but I can move forward.
And so...

Beer #2:

(Alc. 7%)
(Evil Twin - Coffenade)

Smells: That's weird. I'm not even sure how to describe what I'm smelling. Coffee and grass and some kind of wood with just a spritz of lemon?

Tastes: Yeah, I can taste the lemon/coffee blend, and some grassy notes, but... not really tasting like it was a great idea.

Overall, it's like some grass and lemons were thrown in a blender with light/medium coffee grinds and blended. I don't suggest trying this one. Maybe it's your thing, but I doubt it.

(No pic, cause this shit don't deserve one.)

I haven't gotten any faster I guess.
Maybe next time.
For now though, best be moving on to...

Beer #3:

(Innis & Gunn - Vanishing Point 01)

Smellin: Sweet oak and that old familiar raisin sweetness ride shotgun with delicate vanilla notes. Smoky sweet with echoes of dark chocolate.

Tastin: Smoky oak takes a slight lead. Natural vanilla follows up with a helping hand from semi-sweet chocolate. Warm bourbon rounds out the bottom.

Overall: It's fucking Innis & Gunn, so you know it's bangin. Velvety and not too sweet if you take your time. Even though it's only 11% alcohol, it takes on a somewhat cognac-esque quality.

(Someone else come up with a pic... I'm not in the mood to search for something more fitting than the movei, Vanishing Point.)

I may have a headache tomorrow from all the sugar in tonight's offerings, but I'm willing to accept that in the name of good times!

Tonight is a fun trio, starting with:

(Alc. 7.5%)
(Bruton - Stoner)

Smell: Creamy and subdued straw with a touch of melon-y hops. Slight bread/biscuit notes peeking through. A touch sweet with a suggestion of pepper.

Taste: Laid back, chill creamy straw with a touch of honey. Bready background follows up with a whisper of pepper heat on the back end.

Overall, this is way easier to drink than I thought it would be. Very pleasant and fitting for just about any time of year, excepting very hot days. It has stoner vibes, insomuch as the chilled out quality of the quaff.

Easy to find a fitting pic for this one!

Onward to the craziest named beer of the night.
No idea if this should be good or not, but I couldn't resist.
I mean, just LOOK at that can and name!!
How could I not try this shit?!?

Here, LOOK at beer #2:

And the full label:

(Alc. 8%)
(Pipeworks - Ninja vs. Unicorn)

Smells: Bright pineapple/citrus hops. Faint cracker along the sides.

Tastes: Agreeable hops present smooth pineapple/citrus notes. Faint cracker in the far distance. Snappy and happy with a pithy hint of pepper.

Overall, one of the more pleasant DIPAs I've had (or IPA for that matter). Somewhat creamy, but also bright and juicy. Much better than expected! This ain't gonna last long, lol.

And I ain't even gonna try to find a pic to match this one.

Ok. I'm done wit dat guy.. er, beer.
Time for the last beer.
(Might not be the end of alcohol for the night though. XD)

Let's get to this (hopefully) awesome bitch!

Beer #3:

(Alc. 8%)
(Oliver x Stillwater - Whipped Volume 2)

Smellin: Sweet hops, creamy vanilla. Background biscuit. Trailing into gentle candied mango.

Tastin: Mango, creamy hops. Vanilla biscuit dessert. A negligible bitter whisp throughout.

Overallin, this is really tasty. A bit odd of the edge of the back end, via natural bitter hops... but it's fairly soft. Worth checking out, fer sure.

And without spending forever finding the perfect pic, I present a fairly fitting one:

Holy Shitburgers... has it really been THREE weeks since my last drinkening?!?
I thought it was only 2, damn it.
Ok... time to get back to it, then, yeah?
(Yeah!)

I'm starting late, so I gotta get right to this.

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7.4%)
(Cypress Brewing - 17 Mile)

Smell: Juicy fruit bubble gum immediately greets me, holding hands with sweet citrus notes of orange and pineapple. A bitter whisper of hops is hanging out somewhere in the background. A bit of bready cracker rounds out the bottom.

Taste: Citrus, juicy hops try to take the lead, but slightly pine-ish, bitter(ish) hops pull ahead strong. Cracker rounds out the back end.

Overall, a fairly nice brew. It smelled wonderful out of the can and had a BIG, fluffy head. Full body of flavor that grows towards earthy, bitter-ish hops after a sweeter, citrusy opening.

(No time for finding a topless hottie somewhere along the 17 mile drive in Cali, so imagine there's one here instead. )

Phew.
Not bad.
Got that review done and caught up on some stuff and finished that beer.

And it's only 1/2 an hour later.
Pretty good for me.

On the other hand, my dog is whining and wants to go out... so, I'mma hafta do that.

Back soon.
In the meantime... eat some muthafuckin bacon, biatchez!

Ok, back in and heading into the next brew.
This'll be the lowest ABV for the night.
But enough chitter chatter, let's get to it!

Beer #2:

(Alc. 6.8%)
(Shebeen - Black Hop IPA)

Smells: Very subdued, possibly smooth. Toasty ale, favoring the malt side, with almost no smell.

Tastes: Black coffee and dark chocolate notes on a biscuit foundation. With a slight twang near the back end.

Overall, this is a decent Black IPA. Not really a stand-out, except for the stout-esque flavor. I wouldn't kick it out of bed, but just a bit "meh".

(Again, I'm giving up on a pic. Sorry, but I'd rather hang out and shit instead of spending all my time looking for a fitting gif, y'know?)

Ok, so, I've taken way too long to get around to pouring the third new beer.
I'm here now though... about to pour that shit.

But, why keep yammering on?

Beer #3:

(Alc. 9.5%)
(Platform - Esther)

Smelin: Slightly sweet winter holiday spices rise up from a bready base. Somewhat metallic tingle in the air (possibly because it was poured from a can). Faint bittersweet chocolate and a touch of coffee.

Tastin: Wet firewood joins with holiday spice. A subtle biscuit backbone joins the faintly metallic foundation. Darkly soothing.

Overall, a pleasant, if slightly metallic, brew. As mentioned above, the can it came in may have something to do with that, so if you want this, get a bottle or from a tap if available. But overall, it's a pleasant draw.. with metallic notes subsiding as I continue deeper into the glass.

And again, I didn't find a fitting pic within a minute or so and I don't feel like expending a fuckton of time doing it, so... no picture.
(But if anyone wants to post a suggestion, be my guest!)

Peek a boo!
Happy Fat Tuesday, peeps!

Just a quick one-off beer in honor of today/tonight.

The beer:

(Alc. 6.5%)
(Abita - Mardi Gras Bock)

Smell: Faint spices wander up with honey, skipping on a sweet malty path. A bit of a bready backbone mingles with a hint of straw soul.

Taste: Slightly bready presentation, comes forward holding hands with spices. A honey and straw soul happily follows along.

Overall, this is a pretty pleasant brew. It seems to want to be a little funky, but stays on the sweeter side of the street... without being a brute about it. I could see this being a good brew to sip during the day, before really getting your drink on a Fat Tuesday night.

And, of course, this one has a fitting pic to go with it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful V-Day!
But enough about that, let's move on to drinking!
I'm starting late, but I don't have to be up in the morning, so... hopefully I have a rare night.

Let's do it!

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7%)
(Omnipollo - Shploing)

Smell: Sweet citrus hops are boldly up front, with mango directly alongside. Creamy vanilla body hides a faint whisper of graham cracker. A sense of marshmallow camouflages in as the backdrop.

Taste: Calm mango on a fluffy cloud of citrus hops and a hint of vanilla. Bittersweet whispers lean forward on the back end. Faint cracker notes.

Overall, not a bad brew. I don't know that I'd consider it reminiscent of s'mores, but the mango is certainly in there. It's somewhat creamy and fairly balanced with some bitter hops, but not overpoweringly so.

Alrighty, done with that beer.
On to the next one.

Beer #2:

(Alc. 6.8%)
(Funk Brewing - Silent Disco)

Smells: Soft citrus and melon wafts up gently. Supported by a faint, bready backbone.

Tastes: Dreamy hops bring forward citrus and melon notes. Crusty bread defines the backbone, with suggestion of bitter sides.

Overall, a flavorful brew. Darker in taste than expected, almost enough to hint at some sort of spices. Well suited for late night fireplace gazing.

And here's a fairly fitting pic:

Ok, 2 down and one to go.
At least for new beers.
(Good chance I'll swill some variety of pre-existing alcohol around the house after this one.)

Beer #3:

(Alc. 10.5%)
(Off Color - Dino S'mores)

Smellin: Coffee notes rise up immediately, followed quickly by bittersweet dark chocolate. A faint graham cracker spine carries hints of marshmallow, effectuated further by notes of vanilla and molasses.

Tastin: Velvety dark chocolate and black coffee right up front. A vanilla/molasses body provide a beautifully mired base. Whisps of graham cracker lend nuance.

Overallin, this is a beautifully crafted brew. Fuck McDonald's, I'm lovin THIS muthafuckin beer! Not a party beer to be swilled... enjoy the fuck out of this black beauty!

Another weekend, another round of drinking!
I was hoping to try a "peach slush IPA", but they didn't have any singles.
Instead, I've ended up with an interesting round.

To wit...

Beer #1:

(Alc. 8%)
(Vault - Breakfast Stout)

Smell: Coffee rises on a bready cloud. Slight woody notes join with a sweet twang.

Taste: Coffee up front. Soft, bready body with woody, oat notes. Subtle sweetness on a subdued backend twang.

Overall, fairly tasty. Not my favorite stout, but nothing wrong with it either. There's a "twang" that curls under the tongue, which I'm not a fan of. Otherwise, a decent brew.

Aaaand, here's something matchy matchy for y'alls:

Shit, it's already 11:20pm here and I'm only now getting to my next beer.
Ok, I gotta go grab that shit and find a pic and whatevers.

*two shakes of a tail passes*

Ok, so...
Beer #2:

(Alc. 6.7%)
(Off Color - Known Gnome)

Smells: Trees and earthiness and some wet leaves. Some biscuit in the body. Deep in the background, licorice cavorts with subtle spices.

Tastes: A unique porter to be sure. Very earthy and slightly smoky... in a wet forest. Licorice hides among the deeper recesses, almost invisible. A bit of cracker in the body.

Overall, I'm really digging the uniqueness of this brew. It's the kind of thing you want to share with someone, just so they know what the fuck you're talking about when you try to describe it. I find myself wanting to just gobble this up... almost like a horehound/sassafras soda with a vague bitter twist.

Sadly, I didn't find a pic I was happy with.
Please feel free to reply with one!!

Ok, I'm finally getting on to my last beer after I got sucked into some Twoles (that's a word I made up, means "Twitter holes"... which probably sounds stupid to everyone, but me, right now.)

So, moving right along, we have...
Beer #3:

(Alc. 9.5%)
(Decadent - Double Toasted Marshmallow)

Smellin: Sugared grapefruit, then faint pine. Slight sweet vanilla notes whiff about with a suggestion of cracker notes. A distant hint of crisp, bitter hops.

Tastin: Sweet vanilla and.. pine? Subtle citrus hops swirl with faint marshmallow notes. Almost non-existent cracker backbone rounds it out.

Overall, fairly tasty, though not as reminiscent of marshmallows as I'd hoped for. It doesn't taste bad and it's not something I'd turn down. Almost in-congruent flavors though.

(You would think it'd be easy to find some nudie pic of a hottie roasting marshmallows at a fire, but no... not as easy as I thought.)

Hey there non-existent Kick Boxers!
Time for another round!

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7%)
(Omnipollo - Shoutao)

Smell: Citrus (orange, grapefruit) hops with a sweet backbone. Faint peach lazily drifts along. A little cracker in the body.

Taste: Pithy citrus and a hint of pine stand out. A slightly sweet backbone tells peachy whispers. A touch of cracker in the body.

Overall, this is alright. A bit more bitter and piney than I expected, but that may be due to it not being chilled enough. It's alright, but not amazing.

(Oh fuck it... I tried finding a good pic, but Peaches Geldof kept coming up and I just couldn't use her pic in this fashion.)

The second two of the night are both stronger brews.
(Which means I'll switch from my Nonick Pint glass to a Stemmed Tulip glass.)
(But anyway...)

Beer #2:

(Alc. 8%)
(Stillwater Artisanal - There Goes The Day Time)

Smells: Soft, peachy, a little citrus. Pepper notes peek out through a vague biscuit head. Sweet refrains dampen faint pine moments.

Tastes: Soft stone fruit and whispers of pine. Pepper notes meander through a suggestion of a biscuity body and whispers of citrus.

Overall, a really enjoyable DIPA. Well named as it conjures a darker corner of the IPA world. Not scary dark, just... sunset dark. I'm enjoying the hell out of this thing, what with the warmth that follows at the end and the thicker body. Good shit.

Also...
Check it out, I found a pic for this one!

And finally, it's time for the last new beer of the evening.

Beer #3:

(Alc. 8.2%)
(Against The Grain - Citra Ass Down)

Smellin: Sweet and mellow. Melon and biscuit. Maybe a bit of pine?

Tastin: Mellow, somewhat sweet, and tempered with very distant bitter hops edges. A bit of spice floats along the soft biscuit backbone. Very nice.

Overallin, this is another great offering tonight! Probably the best of the night, although the last one wasn't far behind this brew. Very calm profile on this one.

Hmm... what goes with "Citra Ass Down"?
I wonder...

Maybe... this?

(In case you're wondering, that's Anabella Carrasco.)

Super late start tonight.
It looked like I might skip it this week for awhile there, but I've changed my mind.

blah blah blah

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7%)
(Half Acre Beer Co - Gone Away)

Smell: Citrus and pepper notes are first up. Followed by a touch of stone fruit and a faint whisper of pine. Soft, bready backbone.

Taste: Unassuming pine, soft pepper and easy citrus lead the way. A hint of stone fruit laces the bready backbone.

Overall, a pretty easy going brew. The bitter notes build just a bit, tempered by soft pepper. Pleasant and relaxing.

One down, two to go.
Moving right along...

Beer #2:

(Alc. 7.5%)
(Half Acre Beer Co - Daisy Capra)

Smells: Pithy and pine-y up front, accompanied by bready/cracker body. Slightly floral in the background. Possible distant whispers of banana?

Tastes: Almost imperceptible pine bears a biscuit-ish body forward. Soft earthy notes with a tiny bit of heat. Flanked by hidden white grapes.

Overall, an interesting beer. I had to look up the brewery description to get an idea of some of the notes I was picking up ("sun hot berries" and "white grape" helped clue me in). I'd say it also has a touch of pinecone flavor... not sure how I'd know that, but there you have it.

Aaand... on to the last new brew of the evening.

Beer #3:

(Alc. 8.3%)
(Cypress - The V.I.P.)

Smellin: Woody, smoky malt. Wet wood/raisin-y sweetness. A bready/biscuity rib cage. All softly blanketed by dark vanilla.

Tastin: Wet, smoky wood. Slightly metallic biscuit rib cage. Strong malty sweet notes, somewhat reminiscent of raisins.

Overall, this was a shock to the system after drinking the first two IPA brews. Not that they were exceedingly bitter, but comparatively, this is much sweeter. That being said, it's a standard decent dark brew that conjures up familiar wood/raisin notes. Not sure if it's sweeter than it should be, or if it's just my switch from IPA to Porter that is making the difference.

And finally, I have a pic to go with a review!

Well, hello there to anyone who happens by!
And... HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

I only have two beers tonight, but I may switch to tequila or something after that.
We'll see...
Anywayz...

Beer #1:

(Alc. 8%)
(Schlafly - Irish Style Extra Stout (2015))

Smell: Woodsy with whiskey notes, vanilla suspended somewhere in the ether. A touch of raisin sweetness and a faintly bready backbone.

Taste: Smoky wood up front with whiskey notes. Easy raisin sweetness and a hint of vanilla. Faint bready backbone.

Overall, it's a decent sweetness and the woody notes aren't overpowering. It could get a bit overpowering if drinking more than one, but just the one is fairly pleasant.

Damn it, this took forever to get through the first beer and ready for the second one.
I blame Mrs. Frenzy for watching The Office behind me and me being distracted SO MUCH.

(i should put on headphones)

Moving on.

Beer #2:

(Alc. 8.5%)
(Rinn Duin - Blackthorn 2nd Anniversary)

Smells: Gentle and slightly metallic, but clean. Faint spices and possible vanilla notes. Soft biscuit backbone. A slight whiskey tremble in the distance.

Tastes: Soft and faint flavor overall. Metallic and smoky up front. The biscuit backbone carries slight whiskey cask notes. Possible ghostly citrus notes hiding... somewhere.

Overall, this is a hard one to call as the flavors are all rather light. Carbonation could use slightly bigger bubbles, but fairly pleasant. Very easy to drink!

(Sorry no pics tonight. No idea what to do for these.)

Well, hot shit!

It's been about 2 1/2 weeks since my last review!
That just won't do!

Got a couple IPAs and a Belgian quad for tonight.
First up is a brew that came to my attention via Untappd on Twitter, announcing there was a new badge for it.
(Yeah, I'm a sucker for collecting those damn badges!)

Beer #1:

(Alc. 7.5%)
(Voodoo Ranger - Juicy Haze IPA)

Smell: Citrus and stone fruit hops born up on a bready soul. Just a ghosting of pepper notes tempering the brew in the background.

Taste: Citrus and stone fruit hops with softly rounded bitter notes. A hint of pepper notes provide a touch of warmth to the easy bread soul.

Overall, a well rounded brew with a somewhat creamy body. The bitter notes are soft and withdrawn. If I had to narrow down the fruity notes, I'd go with peach and grapefruit. The bready-ness is soft and unobtrusive. True to it's name, this would be good on a warm, hazy, late afternoon.

And I finally have a beer that's easy to find a pic for again!

And then there were two.

Next up, the other IPA of the evening.
I'm looking forward to it, as Evil Twin has easily risen to one of my fave breweries.
So, I'mma go pee, then I'll come back with my review.

*time passes*

Beer #2:

(Alc. 8.5%)
(Evil Twin - Ceci N'est Pas A NE Style IPA)

Smells: Pithy, yet juicy, citrus notes up front - featuring pineapple ester scents. Served up on a faint cracker.

Tastes: Pineapple sweet-pith served up on a thick, cracker-ish body. With an undertow of herbal and black pepper ruminations.

Overall, this is a thicker and darker beer than I expected. The name also makes sense now. It's like a NE IPA, but not quite. It's like an IPA out of the SE that wanted to hang with the NE. Also... fuckin crushable, even at this ABV!

And for a related pic?

I don't know, but for some reason this seemed apropos:
