"Angry Birds" is now available for Android phones and at the moment it is free. It does have ads in it but it is small and in the bottom right corner of the screen so it is very unobtrusive. After a few times of it showing up I don't even notice it much anymore.

Yeah the last beta it would only pop up the start screen before crashing and the release version works fine except after playing the game for about 10 minutes or so the back of my phone starts to get very warm. It probably wouldn't do that if I had one of the 1 GHz processor phones.

nope my droid x gets hot too.
yeah the beta was a bit fudy dudy.
but im sporting a custom rom that did away with most of the motoblur crap.

For those of you that can I suggest checking out how to root your phone and loading a cyanogen/cm release. The phones that dont have a locked bootloader can run these.

My plans for world hegemony are proceeding certainly, but slowly. Of course these things take time. But sometimes, the wait is such a hassle. Luckily, I can find relief: a few months ago EA released Risk for the iPod/iPhone. It plays pretty much like the board game, except with a couple of tools that really speed the game along - so you can bring the planet under your control in 20 minutes as opposed to 2 hours as with the board game.

I got it, and I likes it. It's like a quick-fix. I enjoy dominating the world, even if I have to use something in my pants to do it. "Something" meaning my iPod.

I just installed tv.com, but does anyone have suggestions for more free tv/movie apps? I'd like to find more for myself but would LOVE to find a few good places with kid shows and movies for my kids to watch when we are in the car for awhile.

The AP I want is one that replies to text messages

"This person does not text, it's a fucking phone, call if you want to talk to me"

Annoys the hell me out of that people who want to carry on conversations in text.
In the time it take me to type back on the microscopic keyboard, they could call l, say want they want and be done with it.

Do you play against the phone or do you need human opponents?

You can play 1 to 5 AI opponents (3 difficulty levels) or other people via pass & play or wifi if they have their own iPod and are connected to the same hotspot.

Not sure if you guys have seen this or not. But now the marketplace is accessable from your pc.

https://market.android.com/

If you have a android phone and a tablet you can send apps to either. It makes searching for apps much easier and linking to them even easier.

While downloading an update for Myst on my iPod, I found out that Cyan has now released Riven! Like Myst, it's the full game. It's intentionally coded in the original graphical format, so it's not a HD/Retina-optimized app, but its icon is, so your home screen will still look purty. Be glad they didn't try to make the graphics 'better'; as it stands, Riven is 1 GB.

Looks uncannily like a three-way cross between Shrek, Gordon Freeman, and a universal "men's room" stick figure.

Anyone with an iOS device: download a free game called Nyan Cat: Lost In Space. That is all.

I'm looking for a good app for Trout's phone. Here's what I want to do:

I want to send him a list of groceries, including how much or what brand or even both. For example:

1# broccoli
1 bottle Paul Newman's Light Caesar dressing
2-28 oz cans crushed tomatoes

etc. I want to do this from my laptop either at school or at home. We only have one car, so if I can send him a list, it saves a trip (and gas!) in the car. I've looked, and there are loads of grocery list apps out there, but I was wondering if you all have tried them, specifically for computer to android communication.

My husband and I use email for that. I get his email on my phone, he gets mine. Lots and lots of lists back and forth. No app needed. The only bad thing is I spend a little more time reviewing each list in the store, since there is no check-off, scratch-out, or erase, as I complete the list.

I'm looking at www.ourgroceries.com. It's got good reviews, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to install a PC interface, or do I need one? Argh. Technology is getting ahead of me.

I think "Remember the Milk" does this. I had it on my Droid for a while, but never really made much use of it. Mainly because I usually do remember what I need and G never does shopping for me. So it wasn't really applicable for my life.

You don't need to install a PC interface - you just go to their web site, make an account based on an email address, then install the app on both your phones and set it so you're looking at the list based on that email address you set up on the web site.

Any time you update your grocery list on your phone or, if you choose, on the web site, the other phone's list will sync up.

Out of Milk is great. You have to have the paid version to send lists to each other. But you can scan bar codes on stuff you have so he has no excuse to get the wrong brand or what not.
