Despite claims that it wouldn't happen and a flat out refusal of his induction by Guns N Roses frontman/diva Axl Rose, the former members of the seminal hard rock band -- less Rose -- reunited Saturday night to jam their way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the controversial organization's induction ceremonies in Cleveland.
Original guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Steven Adler, plus Gilby Clarke, who took over rhythm guitar duties upon the exit of Izzy Stradlin, joined with Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy, who also sang on Slash's two recent solo projects, blasting through “Mr. Brownstone,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City” from Appetite For Destruction, which presenter Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day called “the greatest debut album in rock 'n' roll history.”
Comedian Chris Rock said of Rose, “A lot of people are disappointed that Axl Rose isn’t here, but let’s face it, even if he was going to be here, he still wouldn’t be here yet,” referring to Rose's notorious habit of delaying concerts for hours at a time.

Yeah... ideally Axl would have decided to not be Axl for that one night and reunite with his former bandmates in order to say 'thanks' to all those who pushed for them to be inducted into the Hall of Fame (even though many of us consider the Hall of Fame to be a joke... Madonna? ABBA? Please!), but Axl is as Axl does, and it's not surprising that he chose to do what he did.
In my book, this was absolutely the next best thing, other than perhaps Izzy showing up, but I love Gilby too.
It would've been cool to see him there, but I get why he didn't go... bad blood and all that crap.
He says thanks on his own and doesn't need a corporate "Hall of Fame" to give him a stage to say it.
Agreed on Izzy... somewhere I still have the 12" picture disc (vinyl) of Izzy Stradlin and The Juju hounds.
Not sure if it was the full album or the Pressure Drop "single" (EP?)
Eh, GnR without Axl and Izzy is just basically Slash + Backup Band (tho I love Duff too). I saw them in 93, and when they looked out at the audience and saw thousands of Lakotas there Axl apologized for centuries of oppression and did a kick ass show. That was actually the last rock concert I ever attended because I had to focus on being a mom/college student after that.
You know. Guns N Roses is one of the few bands I used to absolutely love that grate on me like nails on a chalkboard when I listen to them now. I think I just hate Axl Rose.
Actually the more I think about it Van Halen was pretty terrible and pointless too.

Oh, hush up and go back to your Bee Gees 8-tracks.

And for the record too.
On The Spaghetti Incident , album from Guns N 'Roses , figure one hidden track , Look at Your Game, Girl (fr) , written by Charles Manson. Also, the lead singer Axl Rose will frequently wear T-Shirt Charlie Do not Surf in the likeness of Charles Manson on stage during the tour albums Use Your Illusion I and II

My Mood:
Having lived in Cleveland quite a while, I've been in the Rock Hall & Museum a number of times. It is an incredible experience, and the actual "Hall" proper is only a small part of what's there.
Who gets picked and how will never be uncontroversial, ever, no matter what's changed or what process is used. But the Rock Hall is a gem of incredible value to any music fan; I'll insist upon this to anyone who asks.

Axl is the love of my life, seriously if I lived in the states I'd stalk him so badly. I saw him at Vector Arena a few years ago and he's still got it goin on. In my opinion GnR is NOT GnR without Axl

I saw them in the early 90's too, unfortunately Axl was having a tanty because it was his birthday and he didn't want to be at the ends of the earth way down here in NZ, so he was a bit pissed off. They never did a sound check and consequently the sound was shit and kept fading in and out. But I made the most of it and enjoyed seeing them.
How did you guys remain so loyal to a group whose lead seems to have taken every opportunity to show contempt for his audience?
I really don't know, I admire Axl for his talent, musical ability and amazing vocal capacity, which is almost second to none. But I think I like his arrogance too and the fact that he is just who he is, whether his sense of right is warped or not he stands by what he believes in. I can't explain it, it's just a thing . I mean if i was him and someone threw bottles at me, I'd walk off the stage and say get fucked too.
Unconditional love

I defy anyone to listen to Estranged and hate it. A bit of trivia the beautiful piano interlude in the middle, Axl dreamt it, got up and played it, incorporated into Estranged. One of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard
This might be them. But it's almost like it's been slightly sped up. The running time on Spaghetti Incident track is 5:06. These knuckleheads tried to fit the song into their video.
