Default Unable to Log Into Xstreet and SL Website

Strange happenings afoot...

I tried to log into Xstreet and keep getting this message:

Unknown RP

That's it...up at the top left of my screen.

So, headed over to the SL Blog/website to see if there were any notices about Xstreet being down. Nothing there except one thread I saw asking about the long outage last night. I was on Inworldz at the time but heard SL had gone down.

Since there weren't any posts or SL blogs about SL being down now, tried to log in and got this message:

Login failed
The inventory system is currently unavailable.

Is anyone else having difficulty? If I didn't think it would make me seem paranoid, I would wonder if these "outages" and "unavailable inventory systems" quirks have something to do with tomorrow's deadline for exporting items.

For exporting inventory for people who wish to import it into InWorldz (or other places I suppose). Also the day the SL new viewer policy goes into effect - those two are probably connected.

I just want to get my marketable items into Inworldz before the deadline.

Update - I am now able to log into Xstreet but still can't get into SL.

Hm. The TPVP does go into effect, but I don't know that that will prevent anyone from exporting anything. Maybe the idea is that once the TPVP is in effect, everyone promises not to use a viewer that lets you export things that you don't own (even if they are fullperm), and this has lead to this "deadline" idea?

XStreet's (along with everything else SL related) been down since before midnite PST. It might be up now, logins are slowly coming back now but I actually don't see anything on the status page about XStreet being back, just logins and registrations.

From what I read on another forum from someone who broke the TOS, TPV or whatever down...after April 30 we may not even be able to back up items we have made ourselves. LL is taking the position that they own everything in SL, including the prims we use to build our items.

I got that from this post on the InWorldz Forum:

http://inworldz.com/forums/viewtopic...t=751&start=20

mistyharley's 5th post on that page. I'm going to err on the side of caution as much as possible.

Yeah, thanks. I believe Misty's interpretation of the ToS and TPV is mistaken on this point. There are places in both the ToS and TPV that very explicitly say that we can export things that we created. Other parts could be read, if you try real real hard, as saying otherwise, but imho those readings are pretty nonintuitive, and the fact that they are contradicted by plainer language elsewhere argues pretty strongly against them.

I would be very surprised if LL were to claim anywhere, or try to enforce, the notion that it's a ToS violation to export stuff that you made yourself.
