So finished up http://www.amazon.com/Shutter-Island-Novel-Dennis-Lehane/dp/0688163173 by Dennis Lehane a few days ago. I really enjoyed it and had to finish reading it once I got to that plot twist!

Currently reading http://www.amazon.com/Vanish-Tom-Pawlik/dp/1414318936/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269747676&sr=1-1 by Tom Pawlik. Only part of the way through this one, it looked interesting and was free for the Kindle at the time I got it.

I just finished this one in about 8 hrs of reading this weekend, but in paperback, not on Kindle. Hilarious. Definitely going to check out his other books. http://www.amazon.com/Coyote-Blue-Novel-Christopher-Moore/dp/1416558470

I read that. I like Moore.

Default Soo necroing...

but I liked the title of the thread. I think some of the results of my activities may have found a home in this thread. Viz.:

I came across this sentence in my random reading today:

Quote:
It is well-known that the curvature tensor is an isometric invariant of C2 Riemannian manifolds.

If you wish to read the sentence in its proper setting, here it is: Flat tori in three-dimensional space and convex integration

I'm reading Philippa Gregory, http://www.amazon.com/The-Lady-Rivers-Cousins-ebook/dp/B004T4KX32/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1337124561&sr=1-1 (followed by The White Queen and The Red Queen). A Song of Ice and Fire is based on the War of the Roses, and I can't absorb history unless it's placed in a piece of fiction so it's entertaining. Needless to say, lots of similarities to things in ASoIaF.

The Lost World, by Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle. Mostly because I got a free copy on my phone.

I'm also slowly working my way through The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. It's a great book, but I'm having trouble finding time to read.

Just finished this while on vacation. Hilarious autobiography by Jennifer Lawson a/k/a The Bloggess. Chronicles her fucked up and peculiar childhood and the mental disorder she suffers from and all things related to taxidermy and the zombie apocalypse. I even have a signed bookplate from her.

A must read.

I am reading Just My Type by Simon Garfield. The chapter dedicated to why Comic Sans has gone wrong is hilarious.

Quote:
Comic Sans walks in to a bar and the bartender says, 'We don't serve your type.'
(Ok... I am an admitted font nerd.)

Just finished http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005G4PUAK/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title
Interesting and very plausible premise, but I have rarely read a book with so many typos, incorrect usage of words (capital when it should have been capitol, trust when it should have been thrust, and more), horrible sentence structure, and endless exposition and repetitive description in my entire life. I got it for free, though.
