Default Handmaid's Tale

I heard Atwood talking somewhere and realized I Han never read the Handmaid's Tale. Seemed odd to me because just seemed like something I would have read

Anyway, just finished it and I'm still a little weirded out

Anyone else feel like that after reading it?

I've had it on my Kindle for over a year and still haven't read it.

I'm a huge fan of hers but I hated that book, christ it was depressing.

Read Oryx and Crake instead. (Oryx agrees.)

It was depressing but I loved it. Another good Atwood is "The Blind Assassin."

btw, if you like Oryx and Crake there is a second book (The Year of The Flood) and now I have found out, a third on the way. So it's really a series now, the same story from different POV's. Which makes me very happy, since I loved them, can't wait for the next one.

Also, and this really is a "woman's book", The Robber Bride, was excellent.

Oryx and Crake was a better book in many ways but I still love A Handmaid's Tale.
Atwood has a great ability to make even the mundane a little sinister.
I'll take the Blind Assassin as my all time favourite of hers.
