The Steve Jobs Way: iLeadership for a New Generation

Like or hate Apple, Jobs is a fascinating character. Apple just past (then dropped behind then passed again... I don't know today) Exxon for the countries largest company. He has to be doing something right. Everyone likes to make fun of "Think Differently" but he does and it works.

Currently, Apple is still the most valuable company. They seem to be holding steady over Exxon-Mobil for now.

Jobs doesn't think differently at all. What he thinks is "Polished" and "Well Marketed".

By Polished I mean "Good form factor, functional and easy to use". The Rio while a neat idea was a pain in the ass to use. The Ipod on the other hand was simple and easy and in general the early generation ones tended to be fairly hardy as well (Aside from the occasional oops apple bricked it).

He also marked his stuff to the right age group, the young. As much as I hate to admit it I'm 31 years old now, people don't market to me, I'm not trendy, my trendy time has passed. I'm set in my ways, and shiny shit doesn't impress me as much as raw power and the ability to tinker (I think computation wise this is going to be the hallmark of my generation, wild casemods and blistering computer power with big fat LED fans and liquid cooling).
