Default Star Wars: The Old Republic

Y'know... I've been wondering why I never see anything posted here about SWTOR.
(Even though there are guildies here and a lot of it started here.)

Then I came across the All things SW:TOR thread today and figured most people from here are probably over on SLU anyway.
I'm not registered there (as Kick), so I never knew that thread even existed.

So, now we have one of our own.

(It looks like Khem smells it and it smell's suspiciously like Tatooine burritos.)

By the way, if anyone wants to try SW:TOR, I have a couple (2) invites left for a 7 day trial.
Post here if you want one (I'll need your email address and a first/second name to enter for you.)

Also, anyone know anything about the Enjin guild site and if/when it's going up?

I can pretend I play if it makes you feel less lonely.

I play but honestly not much. The game really loses it's focus in act 1. That and the delicious Schadenfreude of New Eden keeps drawing me back.

People are protesting in Jita over Goonswarm's "The Mittani" being basically the worlds biggest asshole. And we're suicide ganking them mid protest.

The shrieking of the unwashed masses amuses me.

I'll be honest, nobody but you brings up the guild site. So, not a lot of encouragement to work on the guild site. I keep getting burned on building guild sites. I've done it several times over for WoW, I have put energy into it for other games, I tried with SWTOR....but, nobody seems to give a damn.

So, I don't put much effort into it. You're the only that has even asked more than once about it.

I want to do more, but honestly, there are more sites with better info already, so unless there is more buy-in from guild members, I don't see doing much. I already pay for the domain and hosting on my own, so without some interest beyond that - I don't see myself doing much.

This is why you don't setup a site. You setup a forum, each time you swap guilds you are hosting for you just change the domain and clear out all the subforums. I've used the same phpBB install for two WoW guilds and a BF2 clan.

Right on, I hear ya.
It's never fun to go through setting everything up just for it to be a ghost town.
Of course, there's always the Free option on Enjin.(Subscription Plans)
While the free one has ads and no Mumble, it does include all the "core features", which seems like it'd be plenty for what we'd use it for.

Thanks for the update anyway!

And I do have an enjin.com site registered; just a matter of rolling it out publicly once I've configured what free stuff that I can.

AWESOME!

That site (Enjin) looks like they offer a lot of cool stuff.
Some of it fun, some helpful.

In other news, I'm REALLY excited about the shared guild bank!
Now instead of asking "anyone need this?" in chat, we can just throw stuff in there for whoever needs (or wants) it.

In case there's anyone here who doesn't read SLU, but is also in Cult of The Black Orchid or Order of the White Lotus...

The Order of the White Lotus has been recreated on Dreshdae Cantina.

(This was mainly for taking advantage of the Legacy system.)

My guild on Mind Trick seems to have fallen apart. Maybe this patch will bring them back.

It could...
Of course, you could join us on Dreshdae Cantina.
Dark Side: Cult of the Black Orchid
Light side: Order of the White Lotus

(Unless you're in the guild already... I've lost track of who's there and who's alts are whose and so on.)

I'm gearing up to start drinking beer before long and head in for a night of gaming.
Probably make a LS character to join White Lotus actually.

But for now... I GOTTA PEE

I may just do that... The making a character and the beer. But.. Alderaan again... That's gonna require a LOT of beer. Maybe even rum. Or bourbon.

Alderaan? Alderaan is fine. What I'm trying to say is FUCK TARIS. FUCK TARIS. FUCK TARIS FOREVER. UGHHHHHHHHHH.

You can tell when I'm on Taris because there is a never ending litany of whining coming from me. The worst part is the bonus quest rewards are good enough to stick around so I always 100% complete it.

Wait a second - didn't Taris get asploded in KOTOR?

(There you go Jorus - play the first level in KOTOR and save it right before the end so you can watch Taris asplode over and over at will.)

Well, I haven't seen anyone on in my guild since the patch. So, I made a jedi knight on DC last night. Pretty easy to spot him, his name is Beermaker. Naturally

Awesome.
I haven't been on in a few days, but the last one I made was a new Jedi Knight.

I don't play ANYwhere near as much as I'd like to.
Granted, that's due to having a bunch of things to take of in RL.
Hopefully I can start squeezing in some more game time though.

I'll raise you a Sith Warrior/Juggernaut. Currently Level 13 and Dark Side I.

Wait... so is the guild on DC for Empire or Republic? I'm confused. Which isn't hard to do before I've had my 7-8 cups of coffee in the morning.

Actually there is a guild for each faction there: "Cult of the Black Orchid" is Empire and the "Order of the White Lotus" is Republic.

I still have to log in with Frenn'zi and redo his skills and shit.

But for now... have y'all been to the SWTOR site?
They've redone the whole thing with a bunch of stuff coming (like guild support!)

It takes a minute to get used to, but I think I like it a lot better.

I'd like to be able to go check out the new site, but it's websensed at work, and to log into anything on my phone it wants my security key. Which is on my phone. And by the time I pull the security key off of my phone and go back to the log in form, the number has changed and it rejects my login. Boo.

For you, that sucks.
For others, it sounds like a plot from a sitcom.

In other news... I found out that I have GOT TO get in SWTOR and hit up Tatooine for the (unannounced) event that started on the 15th... The Rakghoul Plague!

Attention Citizens: The Rakghoul Plague Outbreak
Quote:
Attention citizens:

We are happy to announce that we are starting to make progress in the neutralization of the Rakghoul Plague Outbreak. It is our hope that the outbreak will be completely contained by April 24th at 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST). Citizens have until this time to completely avoid Tatooine and to not engage in investigations of suspicious wreckage on its surface.

Thank you.

Well, at least yo gave it the ol' college try. :backslap:

I'll be sticking with SWTOR, but Guild Wars 2 looks intriguing and my wife wants to try it... so, we'll probably buy it since there's no sub fee.
Anyhoo, hope you had fun while it lasted.

Some interesting info in the recent Star Wars: The Old Republic Official Podcast Episode I

Quote:
The other thing that personally I am excited about is adaptive gear. Adaptive gear is the ability for some gear, in particular social gear, to morph its armor rating based on the skill of the wearer the short form is that, yes, you can now tank in a bikini. I know that is important to some people. It also means that things like the - was it the pilot outfit - the sand trooper, the sand person outfit all of those things in particular on the social vendors as well as the armor on the collector's edition vendors and the security vendors all that stuff will be able to be worn at end game, especially when you combine it with the augment table technology.
That should be in update 1.3, which should come sooner than 1.2 did.

So, since I've heard that SWTOR will be launching free-to-play capability this coming weekend, I've decided to download and try the free trial. I'll let you know how it goes.
