Default Anyone have professional editing experience?

I'm looking to hire an editor for Book One of my novel series (not Book Zero, which is all rough-drafty on my website). I'm open to doing barter work too, but since the last thing an editor needs is writing work done FOR them, I'm expecting to pay for it.

I have a strong preference for someone with experience in editing fiction for publication, and I always prefer to hire someone from one of my online communities to do the work whenever possible.

I'm also in the market for a cover artist, but that'll be a different thread a little closer to the actual release date...

i know someone who used to be an actual editor for a publishing house in nyc. she is currently doing law skool finalz but when she finishes I can ask her if she's interested in a little freelance work

uh she didn't work in fiction but she does have a creative writing degree from sarah lawrence.

Yeah, I'm not in a huge rush...I just want to have Book One back sometime around when Book Zero is done on my blog...I'm actually considering taking a month LoA from work to get the novel ready to go.

When she's free, ask away. If she is interested or curious, I'll shoot you my email address. And if she wants to know what she's up against quality-wise, she can peek at the blog (though it's not that I'd have her work on).

I was a technical writer/editor years ago. Dunno if that qualifies but I'm interested.

Sounds like you probably have the editor position covered between what's been posted already. (Awesome news by the way!)

But I would be interested in the cover illustration when the time comes. I would probably do a painting instead of anything computer generated. But, I'll keep an eye out for the relevant thread comes due.
