A Polish woman is facing three years in prison after she removed all of her ex-boyfriend's teeth during dental surgery just days after their breakup.
"I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions," Anna Mackowiak, 34, told the Austrian Times. "But when I saw him lying there I just thought, 'What a bastard' and decided to take all his teeth out."
Marek Olszewski, 45, reportedly showed up at Mackowiak's dental office complaining of toothache just days after he broke up with her. She then allegedly gave him a "heavy dose" of anesthetic, locked the door and began removing all of his teeth one at a time.
That guy isn't too bright, is he? I mean that doesn't excuse HER behavior, but come on! Going to your dentist who just happens to be your recent EX-girlfriend, not smart.
Well someday soon my friends, this ride will come to an end
But we can't just get in line again.

Wat? Why not? Holy smoke, you're saying it's stupid to not expect to be brutally assaulted by a medical professional in their office during business hours after ending a romantic relationship with them? How is that stupid? I bet he had no possible way of knowing what a sadistic lunatic this woman really was.

Did you miss the part where I said it doesn't excuse her behavior?
Are there no other dentists in the world? Personally, I try to avoid an ex after breaking up with them, at least for a while. Why did they break-up? Did he cheat on her? Like I said, none of this excuse her behavior, but if I were him, I would have found a new dentist instead of going to her.

I think he might have eventually; maybe the appointment was already made, or it was an emergency. Maybe he thought it had ended amicably. I mean sure, she says he was a jerk...but this is a woman just removed all of a patient's teeth while he was passed out and helpless because she thought it was "fun". I'm not trusting her assessment of reality.

If she was a sadistic lunatic, there's a good chance that he had seen some signs of that during their relationship, although we don't have any evidence of that. Even without that, though, it was bound to be a very uncomfortable dental visit, socially, if not physically. Even with good break-ups - ones where the parties are able to remain on speaking terms - there is some amount of discomfort, at least when the break up is still fresh. There's just no way I would go to an ex-girlfriend for something like this, even if I wasn't afraid of her hurting me physically. It just doesn't seem right, and to some extent, I would feel like I was compromising their professional integrity - like there was a conflict of interest. I wouldn't agree to represent an ex-girlfriend as her attorney for that same reason. I just wouldn't be comfortable doing it.
We don't know the reason he broke up with her - maybe he thought she was mentally unstable? In any event, if I were to break up with someone and it was not amicable, why would I go see the ex for anything?

That's what you meant. ADMIT IT!!!!!

You're not really this naive, are you? It's all just part of your "Kid AV" persona, right?

RIGHT?
No; I guess I'm honestly naive. We're talking sadistically, irreversibly mutilating someone because they broke up with you. What the heck kind of relationships have you guys been in that you would expect this kind of reaction from your (ex)girlfriend?
I grew up in a place where most people are mentally stable; maybe it's spoiled me or something.
We don't expect that kind of behavior, we've just lived long enough that we know about humans and what they are capable of. I'm happy that you could go to an ex for anything, some of us haven't been that lucky.

The thing is that you may be right - most of my ex's wouldn't probably do this. But in almost all of those cases, there were some hard feelings after the break-up. Even in relatively good break-ups there were emotions involved and going to them in a professional capacity would just be, at best, very uncomfortable, at least until some time had passed. I understood from the article that this was a fairly recent break up. He really shouldn't have put himself in that situation. That's why I said I would never take a case with an ex. I certainly wouldn't ever brutally assault them, but the fact that I was angry, or hurt, or sad, or whatever could compromise my professional judgment.
Plus, I really believe that when someone is nutty enough to do something like that, there are signs that something is dreadfully wrong with them. He MUST have known that she was at least a little unbalanced.

I guess I should be glad that the worse thing that happened to me when my ex-bf and I broke up was that he blocked me from the original SC at work. (Yeah, we worked together and he was in our IT Dept.)
He did take it off 2 days later, out of sympathy I think, as he was also a huge fan of message boards himself.

Update, May 8:The vengeful dentist turned out to be a hoax, msnbc reported. After the story was picked up by news sites around the world, msnbc contacted police in Poland about the alleged crime.
"A spokesman said they had no record of such an incident," the site reported. It also included a quote from the American Dental Association, which said that getting your teeth pulled without you knowing about it is "highly improbable."
I dunno... I had four wisdom teeth removed in 1984 while under general anesthesia, and woke up ready to have them pulled. They had to tell me that it had already been done. Propofol is a wonderful drug.
