No.

I grew up in Catholic school where they pulled your ear, or paddled your butt with a sorority house paddle that had holes in it for low wind resistance. It was not cool.

No one is touching my kids with their idea of discipline as long as i have any say in it, especially not some preaching nun.

My sons teacher called me last night at 8:55p to tell me that my son and another boy did not let a kid who has a seeing problem sit with them at the table.

I gave my son a talking to about making people feel bad because they are different, which is not cool. But i really did not need a call over it since the teacher also said she spoke with them.

And upon speaking with my son, who is a nerd, he was sitting with a "cool kid" who didn't want the coke-bottle wearing glasses kid at their table said something to the child, and my son gets pegged because the cook kid is pleading his case on why the glasses wearing should not sit at their table to my son. Totally lame that my kid is guilty by association.

How much control are teachers trying to exert on the social dynamic between children and the groups they from in school?

If my kids had not both qualified for this gifted school I would be home-schooling.

I have trouble believing any kid raised by you to be innocent and have good ethics.

And wtf is a kid a cook at school ?

You know nothing about me so its not like anything you say about me matters. Your attempt at very personal insult at my children is pretty low.

Post's like this is why i stopped sharing my life on SLU, since some people can't actually participate in a community without abusing personal things said.

You disagree with someone's posts and so you insult their children? That's both idiotic and despicable.

How old and lame is that: If you object to what I'm saying, gtfo.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying: Attacking a poster is less despicable and idiotic than attacking their children.

Than what you just did? Not only 'yes', but obviously. Figures you wouldn't realize that, though.

Oh I trust you Arilynn... the object in question is only a perceived insult, the real insult was to her, I just may not have worded it properly.

Thanks. I understand what you are saying better now. But I think people's kids should be off-limits. I realize I'm indulging in a utopian/fascist/carebear (pick your perspective) fantasy of there being self-imposed limits to forum fighting - and kids wouldn't be the only thing on the list. That's not to ignore the fact that everyone has their snapping point; I'm not sure what the history is between you and Briana. But to me people's kids are a unique no-go zone, regardless of the provocation. YMMV.

Who cares if they're innocent or not? They're not here, and they're easy targets for someone who lacks imagination and ability.

I'll break it down into verrrrry simple language for you, evoL:

Attacking kids = lame, for lame people.

There. Is that too hard? I can ask my six year old if you need help.

I haven't choked on anything that small ever, dear.

Of course, I am rather conscientious about what I stick in my mouth. Sunflower seeds are as small as it gets, and they never posed a problem.

evol, in this thread you earned asshole points. Own them, enjoy them, and trade them with your friends!

They are a rare commodity, I don't pass them around lightly.
