Dankje Morg for the new thread it is pretty

Morgaine Alter 05-14-2011 10:06 AM

I did grab the book found one reserved it on line.
They must have gotten an order in the shelves were bare last time.
The show is selling these books pretty darn fast.

That Cersie looked so familiar to me, she is beautiful the actress, at first I could not place her.
She is the "queen" from 300! I loved her in that movie.

Morgaine Alter 05-15-2011 11:26 PM

HBOgo next week gives a viewing of the next episode one week in advance, right after Sundays episode.
I guess they are pushing this HBOgo pretty good.
Its not a bad thing and free if you have HBO.

spoiler (cant get a spoiler tag to work I am a dork)

wft was up with the scene of Robin Arryn sucking on his mothers tit at that age and getting the child actor to do it?

grossed me out
I did not expect them to show that part.
:gaah:

Monna 05-15-2011 11:26 PM

pretty sure that was a fake tit. Also pretty sure that the actor is in his early teens.

hmm
I thought he looked pretty young, younger then my son(I could be wrong) and then if so fake or not weird.

to add:
just looked to see if anything was said about that and found this info on the actor playing Robin Arryn;

Yeah he was born in 2k so he's 11 or near to it. still a kid but not as young as 6. still think they used a fake tit.

Phoenix Psaltery 05-16-2011 12:18 AM

Yeah, I was going to say, he's 10-11 years old.

right what I was thinking of his age, my son is 12
I wouldn't agree to that fake or not.

Monna 05-16-2011 01:17 AM

It looked real to me and the wet mouth of his also looked real.

well duh. you don't expect them to make it look fake do you?

i mean seriously.... do you really think they are going to let an 11 year old kid actually breastfeed in the name of fiction? that right there is kiddie porn and sexual abuse of a minor and a whole lot of other bad things that children services come and lock you away for. that entire scene HAD to be set up, the parents were probably right there, child services was probably there, they probably had a friggin psychologist or something there AND they used a fake tit and fake moisture.

if ever there was a time when the producers would have to tred carefully, this would be it.

also a skinny Lysa with big plump juicy well-formed tits. they'd have to find an actual recently pregnant gal for that. them titties was fake.

Sansarya 05-16-2011 01:36 AM

They aged everyone up in this show, and it kind of skews the plot a bit (like with Jon Arryn breastfeeding at age 11). Dani is only supposed to be 14. Bran and young Jon Arryn are supposed to be seven. Arya is supposed to be nine and Sansa should be 12-13. Even Catelyn looks 40, though she should be a lot younger, too (like in her mid-late thirties).

Monna 05-16-2011 01:54 AM

I think it was a real tit and hs mouth was wet.

However I just don't think his mouth was on it. ( Trying to think back to it)

ok you think what you want to think but his mouth might have been wet but it wasn't with recently suckled breast milk and even having an 11 year old next to a booby would send people into shit fits. You KNOW this. they had to use a stunt tit.

oh just wait. you have not yet begun to see how messed up the true details of this situation are. lysa has lost ALL her marbles and her kid is royally fucked up too.

Morgaine Alter 05-19-2011 12:05 AM

That was a wild throne and room, amazing what they have done with the set and clothing.
I love that stuff.
possible spoiler

I finished the 3rd book earlier today, dang that one was long and the red wedding grrrrr quiet a few surprises in this book for me!

Io Zeno 05-19-2011 12:27 AM

That throne is made from real trees btw. Three separate pieces. I know this because I watched all the HBO behind the scenes crap. :p

Monna 05-19-2011 12:35 AM

SUNDAY we will see more

IsaDaft Trollop 05-19-2011 01:26 AM

So do my kits! I thought I was alone.

Morgaine Alter 05-19-2011 05:14 PM

I have book 4 in my hands, the only thing that stinks and its a show of my ocd here, is that the cover does not match the other 3 cover styles.
:(
yeah yeah cry me a river

I have the soft copy with 3 of the newer covers and the last with the old shiny cover.
I wish I bought the all in hardcover to be honest or all old style covers.

I am so anal.

just read. you won't care about the cover half a page in.

Morgaine Alter 05-19-2011 05:23 PM

god my head hurts from all this reading in idk 3 weeks. I will finish this one by the end of the weekend is my guess.
I did say I would go easy with this one but sat at the doctors office waiting with it in hand!

I raced through all 4 books also. One positive is that I think I have already forgotten parts as I went through it so quickly. I have already reread the first book and will probably reread them all again before the 5th book comes out.

(And I also hated that one of my books didn't match the other three - I had to buy a different edition of book three. :o)

I know I will do the same one day.

I have not even gone to see his web site to see what is going on with book 5 yet.

not enough time in the day and already way too much internet for me the past two days

it is so nice when your not linked to an electric device

I haven't looked at his website either. Having devoured the books as quickly as possible and watched (and rewatched) the HBO episodes as soon as they became available, I thought I was starting to slide into some sort of weirdness about it all. Heading over to his website and getting involved in the discussion there would be the final step downward that I thus far have resisted. Although I'm sure I will before July 12th.

:p

IsaDaft Trollop 05-19-2011 08:17 PM

I have the 4 books hardcover. But I am reading them again now on my e-book. It's a lot easier for me to just keep the e-book in my purse among all the other crap in there, than carrying around the big hardbacks.

io Kukulcan 05-19-2011 08:38 PM

I downloaded the 1st episode last night. But I fell asleep watching it. It's good though, I like it, from what I can remember.

I really like the intro credits, and the specular highlight on the map of that world. Made the map surface look all shiny metallic, which is weird and cool.
