I just watched this on someone's recommendation. Yes, I'm way behind in my movie watching. Jim Carey was good in it. I was entertained. :stars:

I dislike Jim Carey in just about everything except Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But I think I loved that movie despite him playing the lead role, not because of him.

The only movies I liked him in were The Mask and The Majestic.

Jim Carrey's stuff was funny when it was fresh, but once you've seen his bit it's pretty much the same from character to character. Liar Liar is probably one of my favorites, I liked 23. Bunns was into Eternal Sunshine me not so much. :puffpuffpass:

This movie was not one of my faves. Me, myself and Irene was pretty funny. As Bams mentioned, I also liked Eternal Sunshine.

Yes for about a week afterward I kept seeing that stupid number all over the place. Good stuff I didn't think Jim could pull it off.

William Burroughs had a thing about the number 23 too...
And Robert Anton Wilson.

While not a Carrey movie, I also liked Butterfly Effect. Not sure what made me think of that one, similar feel maybe? :bong:

This was not at a film I wanted to see, and I could only stomach part of it, but it was mostly because I knew what was coming. So, Freya, here's a factoid for you: one of my friends scored a number of scenes when the production crunch got tight, and I have the dubious distinction of playing (among other things) the bongos in this rather tawdry scene:

For all that I detested Carrey's movies, I always thought he had a lot of talent. I'm glad I hung on, because I think he was very good in "The Truman Show".
