Just finished a new pair of socks a couple days ago, plus I learned how to email pics from my phone to my email (shut up, I'm a luddite, I admit it).

Those are very sexy. I'm signed up for a sock knitting class, but I've had to postpone it twice which makes me sad.

Best advice I've had for sock knitting: use superwash wool if you insist on using wool. I ignored that advice to my detriment twice and I have two pairs of beautifully knitted and now FELTED-to-infant-sized socks that accidentally got thrown in with the laundry.

I wish we had knitting classes here. I'm attempting sweaters and instructions in a book are so inadequate.

Those are great! And thanks for the advice about the wool. That must have been so frustrating.

They make great Christmas stockings for mice, though.

So do we. Perhaps it would distract you from your other hobby, disemboweling n00bs.

Very blurry picture of the sock I've just finished (just need to graft the toe). It's made with Malabrigio yarn, which is kind of pricey, but still gorgeous colors. I'm getting a lot faster at making these. This one took one day to do.

/me invites Sans over to Oz to knit scrummeh socks for winter. Hurry up Sans, we still have another month or two of warm weather before I need my tootsies toasted. I will park you on my balcony and make you tea and feed you and I only have two kids so it will be all bliss and sock knitting. I may make you take some time off to get drunk on Thursdays when we go to Scrims set.

Honest. :D

Loving the socks babes. Big time.

May I tag along? I can... uh... hell, I don't know what I can do, but I've always wanted to go to Australia, except I'm worried about the blood rushing to my head.

Hand-knit socks are pure love.

I want to learn knitting socks, but I should probably learn knitting first. Then socks. Or so I've been told.

Decided I'm going to knit a pair of socks each month (then promptly managed to miss my March 31 deadline ;) )

Here they are: March Socks, made with Malabrigo Sock yarn in the color "Archangel". (Yeah, my feet look so fat in this picture :D)

Ok, so I'm still working on the May socks (but I had Startitis so I started June, July and August's socks :D). But, Houston, we've got a problem. I've finally started to "get" how to spin yarn.

Surreal bought me a spindle and wool last year when she came to visit us, and I tried it then but I was total fail at it. This year I've tried again and it's not turning out too badly. I spent all evening (from like 5-10:30 PM) spinning yarn. It's very soothing, and kind of addictive (repetitive motion, kinda Zen-like). I'm really enjoying this new aspect of fiber addiction. Someday soon I'll be spinning bison wool into yarn and making buffalo socks! :msbouncy:

That's really cool and all the socks you have shown look fabulous! I've never been able to catch on to knitting and crochet and I really admire people who have a skill for it.
