Ok, so I bought Orange Box right before I went to visit Mulch the year it was released. I always bring my computer when I see him, so, naturally, I brought it with the new game that I hadn't played yet. He was sitting next to me as I played through all of Portal, and is now forever scarred. He cannot stand the game! The sound of GLaDOS' voice or the cake song sets him off XD He recognizes both instantly even though he has never played the game :P It was mostly the final fight against GLaDOS that really got to him... I think all her shit talking put him to shame and drove him nuts XD

According to local folklore, during the Napoleonic wars, a French ship of the type chasse marée (literally, tide-chaser) was wrecked off the coast of Hartlepool. More than one camera was used for that :) Like the technique coined in the matrix and now used EVERYWHERE. A line of cameras would have taken a picture with only a fraction of a second delay between each

If it were a line of cameras, the view would be always from the side. Since it's much like the view we get from our own eyes, tracking a car approaching, passing, and receding, it's most likely a single camera tracking, laser spotted on the projectile as it emerges, simultaneously slewing the cameras optics and the laser to track the projectile. That's slewing through an angle of 180 degrees in under 0.01 seconds! Either the optics have to be very light weight, or they are already in motion when the projectile emerges from the barrel end. Wow. Wow!

Police received a call Friday night that two men with hooded sweatshirts and painted faces had tried to break into a man's home in Carroll, Iowa.

When police stopped a vehicle matching the caller's description blocks away, they were stunned by the men's disguises.

There were no ski masks or stockings pulled over their heads; instead, Matthew Allan McNelly, 23, and Joey Lee Miller, 20, streaked their faces with permanent black marker.

Carroll Police Chief Cayler told CNN the strange disguises made it easier for his officers.

"We're very skilled investigators and the black faces gave them right away," Cayler said jokingly. "I have to assume the officers were kind of laughing at the time. I've never heard of coloring your face with a permanent marker."
