Is it true Australia will be blocked from Second Life because Linden Lab did not meet the standards?

From SL forums:

Ok its going to happen. The government announced today that they will be introducing the mandatory internet filtering system to all Australian internet users. Content that in classesd as RC (refused classification) will be blocked. SL has been refused classification in Australia. Therefore Australians would be blocked from accessing SL.

This depresses me so much .. i have met many amazing ppl on sl and i was considering starting up a Prefab buisness which im not sure i should do now. I have constantly pumped Lindens to the sl community as many aussies have. So please Lindens please give this game a rating so us Aussies can keep contributing to the vibrant community that is SL.

All aussies unite and protest against censorship of the net. We will become anohter China with no freedom of expression and no right to look at what we want on the net.

Yes i know i sound like a fanatic but im heavily against censorship in any way shape or form.

Thanks for letting me rant

I have heard that before cost to much for them to block it. Think it is a bunch of noise.

VPN/Proxy/Tor/... for the win ;)

Yeah, the thing referenced in this other thread:

http://www.secondcitizen.net/Forum/showthread.php?t=3498

says that "any technically competent user could circumvent the filtering".

So that's good. :)
