My server kept breaking and the support people kept saying it was my fault sooooo I took mine down out of frustation. I think Beebo still has hers up though.

If you want to do 7Seas fishing, Lo Lo is wired for it, the dock (dead center) has a vendo and all that stuff there, PLUS, you get special catches that are jewelry and stuffs (adorable duckies) that Caroline has made herself.

I'm hooked on 7 Seas. I have all that competition stuff on my dock. I've been using their fish kit and designing a few unique fishes to catch.

Fishing in WoW, on the other hand, is still fairly fun and almost as boring as fishing in RL. :lol:

I stopped with 7seas fishing when they added an official auto cast function which made it into just another form of camping.

Before autocast I remember going to competitions, and people were chatting with each other and having a good time. After autocast it turned into: "Hai guys! *sits down and turns on autocast* I'm heading into WoW. When does the contest end?"

Yuck, I didn't know they did that. That's awful.

I've seen this at contests as well. Would be great if during contests, auto cast would not work, but I'm certain that would be unpopular. Personally, I love the social part of the contests.

I lurve 7Seas fishing! I have the special boat with its own server, so I can fish anywhere. Although some of the funnest stuff is fishing in places where the local server has had special fish types added.

No. Not until it warms up. I used to go year around, but as I've gotten older and started getting a little arthritis in my knuckles, my tolerance for hypothermia has dropped and it's just no fun to go out in sub-zero temperatures any more.

Oh...wait. We were talking about SL fishing...

Never mind. I still do that every once in a while.

I used to fish quite a bit and fell of the wagon, and didn't even know about auto cast, D'oh. I'd still do it the old fashioned way, mashing F2 every so often!

RL used to fish on vacations when I was a kid so not since I was maybe 7 or 9 years old so ... well over 30 odd years ago. Never the winter type, summer, on a dock or boat, going after pan fish and other small fry.

Just seen that Portmerion (The Village) holds regular fishing contests.

Well, technically the server owner can locally disable auto-cast from working on their fishing spot. But it seems noone dares to take that step since they believe somehow that it would scare away traffic. (-_-)

on the 7seas chat channel where people advertise tournies I've seen them say "no auto casting" and "auto casting ok" so I guess both are done

It's not advertised or anything, for some reason I just like fishing :D
