One day when I was bedridden, I went into photo mode and spend some time taking some pretty shots of Darkmere before it becomes ugly mainland again.

I was thinking that if people have their own shots (vintage or more recent) that they would want to share, we could make a Flickr group for those. I have a bunch of old shots myself, but I wasn't sure if the people in those shots were fine with being published online.

OMG, I'm really going to miss Darkmere. I didn't know it was really going to happen--that Darkmere was going to be no longer. :( I wish I had some snapshots. :(

Nope, Nina isn't on the ban list.

I'm not big on banning....

The only names on the list are accounts that have actively griefed in Darkmere.

Most of the names are there at Decadent's behest from when she lived there and had a stalker.

As to a timescale... fuck knows....

I'm a bit of a procrastinator at times.

As to the reasoning... I'm hardly in SL, so paying for an area the size of Darkmere is a financial stupidity thesedays.

I was hoping to sort it out this tier cycle... but I was too disorganised.

Hopefully sorted by next one.

Darkmere will still remain in a much reduced form, however... it's not vanishing entirely.

The Village and ruins etc, however will all be gone

The community I hope will remain to some extent despite its geographical (wait can I use geographical in this context) scattering.

And maybe one day, when SL sucks less......
Or if another platform (but not one like Blue Mars, which sucks) arises... Darkmere will be re established.

I dunno

More thoughts later..

I gotta go out buy a new computer chair...

Old one broke, and the dining chair I'm using right now is far from comfy.

You know, I didn't even know tribalism was a (supposedly) bad thing until Prok got hold of me over a Darkmere drum group. Chip later confirmed it. Tribalism is teh evol. Good thing these tribal drumming things happen at the nest of evol that is Darkmere :D

Well Zore needs to be able to enter SL w/o the urge to kill rising. So far that hasn't happened for her yet. Prolly she won't be on boards much again ever becuase of the rising urge to kill. However she does have a great recipe for daikon radishes which I will share with you after I make it this weekend. I need mirin

Could someone perhaps do a bit of a write up on the beginnings of Darkmere for those of us who don't really know anything about it?

I visited the build many times but due to my timezone it was always deserted. It looked really cool though and it is a shame it is being diminished.

What was the deal there?, did you all buy land and add it to the group and then grab a space for your huts or pay rental to one person who controlled it all (presumably Lucifer) or was it more altruistic than that and free for you all to enjoy as a group of friends (fiends?)
