So I have been driving everyone nuts with my little boat that i have been building and now that it is almost all done..

Where shall I sail? Want pretty coastlines with stuffs to see. Needs to be rezzable spaces of course- and dont realy want just wide open ocean.

United Sailing Sims/Blake Sea/Bingo Strait/Nautilus/etc.

Teleport to ZATZAi, rez your boat, and head in any direction. There are shitloads of water sims you can sail or fly through. There is some New England themed stuff to the north, tropical stuff to the south, Carribbean-ish to the east, and Nautilus (fairly impressive island) to the west. In the Blake Sea, there are some sims with little islands you can visit that are really nice.

The area is also very good for flying & has several aviation oriented communities that organize poker runs to the various different airports. I don't have an exact count but I think there are at least 20 airports and seaplane bases in the area.

Almost all of the USS sub-estates have rules against banlines, so you can actually fly over the land without having to worry about the minefield effect like you get over the mainland. Many of the sims are homestead, however, so if there are a bunch of other people/vehicles there expect some lag.

I should note that USS considers Blake Sea to be "theirs" even though it's Linden land. If you are boating through and there is a race, they will try to chase you off. Since they aren't paying for the land it seems a bit presumptuous to me. I try to stay away from green dots as a courtesy to the boaters, because many of them are really nice people. However, there are a few people there who have an annoying sense of entitlement and that has occasionally been irritating. (Just like boaters in real life... there is a rivalry between sailboaters and powerboaters... and just like on the hiking trails, some horse people are always trying to get bicyclists banned... there is always some faction that thinks its method of propulsion should have presumptive right of way.)
